True Life: I'm Happy I'm Fat

Shit, $400 a month? Man, you must really be hurtin. Try doing it for a family with $30-50/week and you will be thinking more realistically. Have you ever supported yourself? Have you ever had to stretch a paycheck? My money is on your answer being “no” and thats why you dont think its a legitimate excuse. Before I go any farther, who the fuck ever said you had to have an excuse to be fat? If I wanted to get fat, then I would get fat and say fuck you to anyone who told me not to. Thats a personal choice and no one else’s decision but your own.

When did I say I had anything against fat people or that if somebody wanted to get fat I cared at all about it? I just said that someone is definitely capable of eating healthy for very little.

A big bag of frozen veggies is a dollar at the food store. London broil is about 2 dollars a pound. Take two pounds of London broil and two bags of veggies and that’s about 3000 good calories for 6 bucks.[/quote]

This entire thread is about having something against fat people.

I dont know where you are, but around here 6 bucks gets you the big bag of veggies and the only meat that is $2/lb is 70/30 ground beef.

Stronghold, if everyone is free to do whatever the fuck they want, which is something I feel we agree on, why does it matter what other people think about fat people? They have just as much a right to bitch about fat people as the fat people do to be fat in the first place.

And I have a right to tell them that they are being children when they prance around feeling superior to someone else based soley on their bf%.

When it comes down to it, if you treat someone badly because of their weight, then you are stepping outside of your bounds. Your actions are no longer just affecting you, but affecting someone else and thats when what you think ceases to be just your business.

I think stronghold may come from overweight stock.

Something, somehow, gives me that impression.

And if he doesn’t, I do. most of my family are more like cattle than people. But it’s their choices that have led them to this.

They eat crap and sit a lot.

Outside of my father, mother, and two sisters, all my close family is overweight. I was lucky enough to have parents that were intelligent enough to break the cycle.

Ive got an uncle that im basically watching eat himself to death, he is now so overweight that he cant work, therefor he cant support his family, and its killing his mother to watch her son dig his own early grave. So, there is an example of how it can hurt someone besides there self.

I had to watch my younger sister be ashamed of him in front of her boyfriend as my uncle tripped over his own feet walking into our house and my dad and i had to basically pick him, as he just laughed at himself.

He’s become pathetic, he’ll be dead in less then five years most likely. We’ve all tried to help him, but yes, its his choice to live his “life” this way. I’ve never gone out of my way to treat him badly because of it, thats not what im suggesting people do, but i definitely judge him for it. Its a poor life choice, one that will eventually kill him, just like somebody who does recreational drugs or abuses alcohol.

Well I suppose you can have your own opinions. For the record I don’t really have anything against fat people other than that I generally don’t want to date them. The only reason I jumped into the topic is because I think it is possible to eat healthy for a price that almost anybody could afford.

As for where I am: I go to school in Hoboken, New Jersey. At the Shop Rite by me, $1 gets you a 4 cup bag of frozen mixed veggies and usually the London Broil is $2.50-$3 per pound but it’s usually pretty easy to find either a sale or to just get the meat they are throwing away the next day. Just buy a bunch when it’s cheap and throw it in the freezer.

Anyways, I don’t mean to get in an e-brawl. I apologize for any comment that might be construed as offensive against overweight people.

Obesity is now twice as worse as chronic cigarette smoking.

“Smoking accelerated the ageing of key pieces of a person’s DNA by about 4.6 years. For obesity it was nine years.”

I couldn’t imagine counting down my life at age 19.

it’s always sad when we see people making choices that damage their lives so much, and seem to get a thrill out of it.

Whether it’s drugs, gambling or food. It’s always sad to see an addict throwing away their life.

But there for the grace of god go all of us. I feel for those who can’t say no.
