True Life: I'm Happy I'm Fat

For those not familiar with the series, MTV follows around somebody and documents their life, usually a few people between 18-25 that share some style of life.

Theyve done two of them about “I want the perfect body” that i really enjoyed, one of them focused on Kevin Nee, right before he turned pro at 19.

Another talked about people on steroids, it wasnt done all that great, one of the 3 people was a guy who wanted to get his biceps up to 14 inches so he could impress guys at gay clubs, then he got “roid rage” and later became addicted to steroids and depressed… i think it was mostly because he was an idiot.

Well the most recent one ive seen left me completely dumbfounded.

It was about people who are happy being fat.

heres the breakdown of characters.

1.Male, late 20/early30’s. very obese, finds other gay men online who are interested in having care free sex with a freak like himself.

2.Female,18-20, starting what you could basically call a “fat ass appreciation group” at her college, and then gets pissed off because nobody in their right mind will join, and the board at her college things its a horrible idea. Also, they make a big deal of her working the courage up to ask out her “normal” sized male friend, and when they cue the dramatic music, he basically says “sure, why not” just not to make her look like an idiot on national television. Maybe if she had less then 4 chins he would have been more excited for that date to the local Ryans.

3.Female, late teens, early twenties. This girls takes the soon to eaten cake. She didnt even have trouble with her weight, and then as a way to INCREASE her confidence, she gained like 75 pounds…and she was not tall. She found that this helped her with men, and greatly improved her life. I dont know if it has anything to do with the fact that she was African American, but this girl was honest to God morbidly obese, how that could make you more confident, or more attractive to the AVERAGE male is beyond me. Even better, she went to the doctor because her family and close friends were getting pissed that she was basically eating herself to an early grave, so she decided she was gonna go get a physical and prove that a 75 pound weight gain in a year hadnt hurt her health.

So of course she finds out that 19 she has super high blood pressure, and is now a krispy creme away from being diabetic, where she had no sign of being early diabetic before. But she leaves the situation telling the Doc…“thanks for giving me something to think about”

Don’t these people know that obesity is killing people of all ages in this country at an alarming rate? That they are increasing their chance of damn near every disease by 10x just by lovingly stuffing their fat distorted faces.

Im sitting there, judging the hell out of these people. i mean, really detesting these people for the choices they have made. They dont realize that life is a gift, and they basically giving theirs away for what? The many joys of junk food ?

Ive noticed lately that the more and more that fitness and proper diet become a part of my life, im slowly starting to be disgusted in people that know what they are doing to themselves, but choose to disregard all reason, and slowly kill themselves.

Be it junk food, binge drinking, illegal drugs that turn you into a waste on society. Im losing all respect for these people.

And i feel like im completely in the right.

I like to think that im pretty tolerant of the choices people make…religion, sexual preference, whatever it may be, ive always said, if they arent hurting anybody, then let people live their life.

But these people are hurting somebody, they are killing themselves, and on their way to the grave they are starting their children down a road of the same habits.

I have a good friend who is overweight, and i did have a to bite my tongue in the last few months, because if i didnt i would say things that would really hurt his feelings, so when he came to me asking for advice on diet and training, i could not have been happier. Hes a great guy, and he will only improve his life, and most likely his character by getting healthier.

So there, rant over, but i have to to admit that im not as tolerant as I once thought i was.

That sounds hilarious. I saw the perfect body one with the bodybuilder, the chick and the high school offensive lineman(who now plays pro for my team, the Broncos, funny)and I saw the gay guy part of the steroids one. That was hilarious too. I guess they had to balance it out with people actively taking their bodies in the opposite direction so they wouldn’t get sued by the ACLU for fat discrimination.

I saw a part of it when it was on. I wanted to puke.

I don’t know whether it was the obesity of the homosexual innuendos.

I’m happy to be fat. Ha. What’s next? I’m happy to be a cutter?

I don’t get the gay thing. By far and large the gay community is either really freaken jacked or skinny as hell. Rarely have I ever seen a fat gay guy and that’s saying something as I grew up in DC.

Oh well MTV is retarded did we expect anything less than what they showed on that TV show?

Kevin Nee was the best and last great thing to happen to MTV.

The football player was the only person that ever impressed me on that show. He sure was a big boy! Dedicated as well from what I could see, good to see it paid off.

Remember watching a true life episode where a fat girl would go around carrying a salad ranch dressing on her purse. For every restaurant she would go, she would simply pull out her salad dressing and pour on top of everything.

My wife was watching this when I came home from the gym the other week. So, I watched the rest of it with her. Now, I’ve got some pudge on the ol’ midsection but nothing really unhealthy. Having that little pudge pisses me off to no end. And I’m working my arse off to get rid of it.

My point is that there is no way that these people can really be happy. I’m not buying it. I think they are trying to convey the message that they are happy but in all reality aren’t.

They can’t be.

True story: I’m happy you’re fat, too.

hahaha yeah I saw that, it was hilarious. She put it all over he fries I think.

Pretty sure she was a + sized model?

I saw this thread and it reminded me of a former “star” from the Made:I Wanna Be A Dancer episode was arrested here a couple of weeks ago for prostitution. I remember the episode faintly…I remember she wore wigs or some shit .

Ehh, good for them. I lift because I enjoy it, not because it makes me a better person than anyone else. I dont particularly have a lot of sympathy for fat people, but I guess if theyre happy, hey, they dont need it, right?

I’ve always had trouble with consistently eating healthy.
Weather it be pop or stuffing my face with honey buns, I always seem to fall short.

I’ve always had a high metabolism though, but I’ve got diabetes on both sides of my family. I’d rather make changes now while I’m still healthy, as opposed to HAVING to make changes 20-30 years down the road when my life is on the line.

As far as obese people go, a lot of the time it’s the family to blame. There was a thread on here last year sometime about like an 800lb man. His family bought all of his food and cooked it for him and he stuffed his face. He only ate one meal a day, but he ate like 15000 calories in that one sitting.

I’m amazed at the gay lover of one of these fat guys on this show. He’s jacked. He must have 17’ Arms and he’s far from fat. But he’s doting on this man whose over 400 pounds and is wider than he is tall. Why? Because he’s got a fetish for fat men. He loves making love to men that size.

Being Gay is fine. That’s not the issue here.

What I take issue with is that this guy is sexually attracted to someone because they have a disease. What else are you call Obesity? It’s not a “life choice.” It’s a self-inflicted disease. There really isn’t much of a difference between having a fetish for fat people and having a fetish for large, glowing tumors.

Obesity is the very definition of a ‘life choice.’ You don’t catch it, and it sure as fuck isn’t an ‘epidemic,’ so I don’t know if it can really be described as a disease in itself. (Though it can cause diseases.) It’s a loosely-defined, unhealthy condition that you develop by living a certain lifestyle.

Either way, not a good thing, but I hate it when people put together the gross consequence of laziness and poor diet with actual diseases, some of which kill healthy, hardworking people every day.

I’m not sure if she was a plus sized model. But that girl seriously had no shame.

What’s that commercial I hear on the radio “America live on Dunkin Donuts”

When that t.v. show “Confession of a Match Make” where she interviewing a fat guy looking for a date and told him “You made a choice between donuts and sex, the donuts won”

I remember when my daughter was five, we were at a store with her five year old male friend. We got the to checkout counter and there was this really obese lady in front of us. Wouldn’t you know it they both said nice and loud at the same time “wow are you ever fat!!!” I couldn’t help it, I just busted a gut, I almost pissed myself. Kids say the darnedest things, and the truth.

I remember watching KevinNee onthat show. I was thinking “damn that guy is determined !” Look at him now. Also remember the football player , had no idea he’s with the Bronc’s. The gay guy onthe gas was,and I bet, still is an idiot!

The concept of this new show is insane. They’re bascially saying its ok to be obese! This is an outrage! Like its been said here time and time before obesity kills! So why the hell is mainstream america say its ok to be obese? Cue in the guy from Princess Bride " INCONCEIVABLE!" Being obese is a choice.

As for the Dunkin-Donuts commercial. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact these fast food commercials should be truthful and use fat actors and not skinny ones. That would make you think.

I think you guys are getting a little carried away here. You do realize that all of this huffing and puffing about how terrible these people are for their lifestyle choices is very much akin to the shit much of the lifting population deals with (ie, steriods, too big, freaky, musclebound, roid rage, etc.).

If they want to be fat, fucking let them. If they want to whine about no one liking them because they are fat, fucking let them. As long as they dont expect for others to tiptoe around and accommodate them and the consequences of their lifestyle then let them be fat and whine till theyre blue in the face.

I feel like a lot of you guys are making character judgments based soley on a person’s weight. I myself hate people with short haircuts.

There is a huge difference though. Someone who is fat is most likely fat because they have a poor diet, eat shitty food, rarely exercise, etc. If someone doesn’t have the willpower to resist unhealthy food when they know that it might hurt them in the long run, it’s not exactly a positive virtue. Haircuts, on the other hand, has nothing to do with this. Short haircuts don’t worsen your life quality.

Why is it any of your fucking business what another person does to their own quality of life? Thats THEIR choice and unless they are leaching off of the government to pay for their healthcare, then it does not affect you in any way other than the fact that you have to put on your big girl panties and deal with having to see them and walk the extra 2 ft to get around them on the sidewalk.

You guys act as if someones weight could completely negate their worth to society.
