So I’ve been on trt for about 8 weeks. I have my initial lab and my most recent. I’ve only been taking a 90 shot of test cyp twice a week with hcg with each injection with half of an anastrozole. How the hell did my test get this high!? I eat a healthy diet, lift 4x a week, and jog 20+ miles a week. 5’10 175lb around 11% bf so I don’t consider myself overweight. I’ve never done any cycle of anything else in the past. I started it because my sex drive was ruining my marriage and trt brought it back. Do I need to stop trt?
The reason why your levels are so high, your TRT dosage is excessive, even without the hCG.
You got yourself into this mess because you didn’t do enough research. It would’ve been best if you would’ve come to the forums and inquired about proper TRT protocols, then make your move.
You got screwed over and found a T-mill, which typically dish out cookie cutter protocols to everyone instead of individualizing treatment.
The goal is to sell you as much compounds as they can get away with legally.
You should’ve started out on (50 mg 2x) 100 mg per week with no other compounds.
Your estrogen levels are low in comparison to your testosterone.
Thank you for the aggressive response. I haven’t seen anyone else ever starting at a 100 shot per week. It looked common for people to be on a 150-175 dose to get levels to 700-900 range do it didn’t seem crazy high.
Your own experience hints that this is untrue.
I don’t know where you heard, read this, but 100 mg per week is enough to get most men midrange or slightly higher.
There’s a thread over at ExcelMale → Responses of different doses of testosterone injections on body composition, strength, etc.
These are once weekly injections, twice weekly would yield higher trough levels.
253 for 25 mg/week
306 for 50 mg/week
542 for 125 mg/week
1,345 for 300 mg/week
and 2,370 ng/dl for 600 mg/week
A 542 ng/dL trough level is a good therapeutic level at 125 mg per week, with peak levels likely in the 1000 ng/dL range.
The average TRT dosage are 100-150, but there are those that get caught up in, if a little Test makes me feel good, more is better. Sometimes it’s true, sometimes it’s not.
By splitting up your dose twice a week you are keeping your trough high. Are you having any symptoms or are you just worried about the total test level? Honestly you need a free test number as well. I dont see anything wrong, your CBC looks fine. If you’re worried with it being that high, lower the dose? with HCG you are essentially keeping your natural test production going and adding 180 a week on top of that.
Besides the numbers, are you having any issues?
Thanks Forrest. I actually feel great, I’ve had amazing energy and drive. I haven’t had sore joints or any hint of any bad symptoms. I was just worried that it was just too high. I was on the hcg to keep natural production going andy sperm count up as I might decide on another kid in the future. I’m not bodybuilding or doing anything insane I just want to feel better. I think I’ll go down to a smaller dose twice a week. Would you recommend going down to 50x2 with 25iu hcg? The clinic I’m using and both clinics in my town have pushed 200 as a starting dose so I was actually going lower than they said to.
If your blood pressure is good, your CBC is good, and your other labs are OK, Total Test is really meaningless. Free Test is a better indicator, but if you want it just a little lower, 100 a week is a decent starting dose.
There is your answer. You are fine.
How did your levels get this high? How many days post injection was it when these labs were drawn?
Your starting dose is reasonable. It is not crazy high. If I’ve started five guys as low as 100mg, it would be a lot. Usually we use 140-180 twice weekly. Most need to take that dose to feel good. You probably do not need the AI. To me it makes sense to start without it (unless there is some sort of previous history indicating it would be needed) and see how you respond. You can always add it later.
Also, no need to use hCG now. You could add it if and when you decide to have another child. For fertility, we use 1500-2000IU weekly, for atrophy, 600-700IU weekly.
Good luck, looks as though you are off to a good start.
