TRT to Reduce Cortisol, Questions RE: Fertility

Hi everyone. Ive been reading this site forever and figured I’d make an account and finally participate!

Huge question: I am young (23) and have EXTREMELY HIGH cortisol levels which has pushed my testosterone levels down in the 150 range. I have been tested for Cushings disorder (to see if I may have a tumor) with a dexamethasone suppression test and my body came out regular.

I started TRT (200mg a week) about 6 months ago to raise up testosterone levels and lower cortisol. It has been a smashing success. Testosterone is normal high range and cortisol went from 35 on a reference scale of 2-17 to a 5. The cortisol used to keep me wired and prevent me from sleeping for days upon days and now my sleep is finally perfect.

Estrogen levels are in the normal range without using an anti-e. I am concerned about one thing: Fertility. I haven’t been on HCG and am going to ask my doctor to let me start. I know I am already probably shut down but will starting HCG mid cycle get my sperm being produced again or should I blast HCG, come off of treatment for a month on some clomid then start up with HCG throughout treatment.

Hope I get some great answers. Thanks all

hCG or a SERM will get the job done. How your testes respond depends on the level of degradation and that varys a lot from guy to guy. Do something fast!!

SERM will create LH and FSH and sperm count will be better than with hCG. Do not take hCG and SERM at the same time. No need to stop TRT. After a while you will need to have a sperm count done to see what the situation is.

Good luck with your doc!

Thanks KSman. I appreciate the advice!

Sorry for digging up this 2 year old topic. I am also very high on cortisol and low on T. I was looking up about TRT and saw that your cortisol level reduced after having TRT. That’s great news and I hope it works that way for me! How are your levels now?
