When injecting a given amount through a specific needle, such as 1/2" #20, time to inject varys with pressure. A smaller bore syringe develops higher pressure than a larger bore. That is why I suggest 0.5ml
But I do not recommend 0.3ml syringes just because they seem to small to hand.
Insulin syringes are available as 1.0 ml and 0.5 ml. Walmart house brand ReLion is $14 per 100 in USA.
@KSman Can you explain why you suggest a 12 mm needle over a 8 mm needle when injecting in the quads (I read a guide on insulin injection in the quads where 8 mm where recommended for this
Injection site)?
P.S.
Thanks for the helpful info. I am feeling much better and have better skin after moving from weekly injections to twice a week.
Iām new to this and have already found 4 great docs who have videos on YouTube. They preache what they preach here at tnation and are easy to find. They all do virtual consultations and trt programs anywhere in the world.
You said āyou need to be using the ranges for youthful menā. Does 40 fall into that category? I am experiencing all the symptoms of low T, go for my first labs in a week. Just scratching the surface in what I want to learn about this
Needles should be referred to by gauge not ml. 18 gauge is pink and used to draw up meds. Length is not important as it is only going thru the rubber part on the vial. Now injection needs run from 21 gauge to 25 gauge. Insulin needle are usually 25 gauge. I have been injecting my Testosterone twice a week now below my navel but 6 inches right or left. The pain is minimal So much better for me that IM. For IM injections into the glue you will need something longer like an1,5 inch and a 21 gauge works well. Hope this helps been a nurse for 42 years I got this.
