TRT Optimization Dosing: Once or Twice a Week?

What does your test come back at on IM 185-200 mg weekly? Same?

Hi. Yes I did post on another board, and while they were helpful they also made it seem like my Doctor prescribed dose of 160mg / 40mg was stupid. Basically stating I should get a new doctor. I’ve been using TRT to rebuild after suffering some neurological damage. It seems to be helping with performance , energy and mood. Trying to get dialed in sooner than later. Meaning, sex drive, exercise, limited depression, sleep and so on. I was criticized for wanting improved performance and gains in the gym. People basically stating I don’t want it for health. I do want it for health. I was in a bad place for 20 years and I want some life back. If gains at the gym are an added bonus then I’m cool with that. I’m new to TRT and how things work. SHBG, E2 and all the other crap. I’m really not an expert, and doctors are not always the best at explaining things. This is my 3rd month and my longest consistent dose was 160 mg. I did that for 30 days and after labs Doc switched it up.

Been at this weird dose for a month now.

@sublimeprince32
Haven’t tested since but it’s likely around the same levels. I don’t feel much different but I prefer the little bit of difference that going to IM makes.

Yeah I dont like the weird dosing either. 100 2x week would make more sense and provide more stability. To me personally where your levels were with 160 once a week, 100 2x is kind of a large jump. If you can control what you do now, I think 90 2x a week may work better for you. The two smaller doses may help lower your e2 also.

Give whatever you decide to do 6-8 weeks before labs and making adjustments though. Expect ups and downs, water retentions etc with a change in protocol. Doesn’t mean your e2 is going wild its just your body adjusting. Good luck brother.

Thanks man!

Virtually every man I work with who had issues with weekly or twice weekly shots moved to daily and that one change resolved their issues probably 50% of the time. The other 50% were either due to blocking estrogen or insufficient free T.

Thanks. Hey! I think I’ve seen some of your Youtube videos. When you say work with, do you treat men for HRT? I would love a quick chat some time if you were ever available.

I am not a doctor. I’ve just learned a ton from doctors enough to help guys with basics. Beyond that I can refer them to doctors I know. There is a FB group and YT channel as well just to help guys out as much as we can.
