Just increased prescription from testosterone cypionate 100mg weekly to 150mg weekly. Total T has consistently tested 590-ish, but the last three months i went from being a total couch potato to getting to the gym 5 days a week and radically improving my diet. Got off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds, etc. since doing this, that 100mg dosage just seemed lacking despite the steady 590-ish total t lab results.
Now that i started the 150mg this week, im curious about dosing frequency. Ive read in many forums that for more consistent results (mood, focus, energy), i should be dividing my weekly dose into 2 and preferably 3 injections. Any advice/observations/facts about this? Im initially thinking a dosing schedule of Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday, that way I get a good start on both the beginning of the week and the weekend.
Id also like to hear pros/cons on injecting twice a week instead of 3. Historically, been injecting once a week and my knee jerk reaction is that two seems more acceptable……whereas three becomes more of a lifestyle thing, and im just an average guy who wants to feel and look decent. No bodybuilder/weightlifter lofe and i dont want to “feel” like my week revolves around my injections.
Most using testosterone injections through their PCP, urologist or endocrinologist take twice monthly injections.
Most getting underground testosterone take once weekly injections.
Those going with a TRT practice are all over the place. With me, it’s about 50/50, once a week/twice a week, with a few using three weekly, every other day and very few daily.
Guys use two or more weekly because they experience fluctuations with once, or they are trying to mitigate erythrocytosis or elevated estradiol. Cons? More injections, if that’s an issue. If doing well with whatever you’re doing, I wouldn’t change.
Some get religious with this, “my dose, my injection schedule, is the best and everyone should be doing it.” Go with what works for you. Do not obsess about numbers and day to day stuff, like “I missed my heavy set of squats, my levels must be low”, or “I’m tired today, I need labs.”

Prior to the recent dosage increase, ive noticed going back to start of TRT in 2017 that my “once weekly” injection (sunday) always petered out (no pun intended) around thurs/fri. This is why im considering dividing the dosage. Im not experienced/knowledgable enough to estimate how the new 150mg weekly dosage would feel around that thurs/fri mark. Reasoning would say that it wouldnt be as noticable….perhaps even not noticable….as the lower 100mg dose.
There you go, justifies dose change and/or frequency change in my mind. Remember, whatever you try, you can always change if needed.

How long does it generally take to stabilize when switching from a weekly to two or three times weekly injection? On the previous dosage, i tried it as two weekly injections and that was two weeks of moody hell. Had to revert to weekly!
Depends on the person. Many people don’t really notice anything, some go through an adjustment period.
I do every three days, it satisfies my OCD about unequal injection times haha. I was doing EOD, but I don’t notice any difference, and pinning gets old.
I hardly notice fluctuations haha. I’ve gone up to 875 mg/wk and back down to TRT levels (145 mg/wk), and the differences for me are subtle. Being warm, a bit less anxious, libido up a bit and vascularity are about all I notice with the higher.
