I seen a post written by ‘helper’ in 2010 on the topic ‘Lab Work, Blood Testing and Symptoms’ saying is it possible to make a ‘TRT for Dummies’. I think this is a good idea to make as a sticky, because i have no idea what any of the abbreviations stand for or mean, and i dont really know much about TRT or what my levels should be at.
Im 33, from scotland, and currently on testogel for low libido, ive been on it for 8 months now. My libido improved for the first 2 months, then went back to how it originally was. Although, my energy levels have increased and i feel slightly more confident in general. Ive lost about a stone in weight since being on it aswell.
I saw my endocrinologist today and he suggested a double dose of gel and i also spoke to him about possibly gettin injections. He said ive to go back in 6 months for injections, but he said theirs a monthly jag and a 3 monthly jag. Any idea which injection i should choose and why? Im also not sure if a double dose of gel would be better.
My results from my very first test was (and i think its in nmol’s):
Lutenising Hormone - 15.2
Follicle Stimulating Hormone - 38.3
Testosterone - 9.1
Progesterone - 2.1
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin - 29
I really dont know what my levels mean, how low they are or what they should be. Are they bad? Ive read through some of the stickies already and im still clueless. I also spoke to my endocrinologist about HCG after reading a bit about it, and he said i dont need it. If anyone can help me and explain all of the above, i’d appreciate it.
