TRT, Cardio, and Muscle Loss

Hi …just started 140/week on TRT plus 1g/lbs protein daily.

Will the steady Test and protein allow for an aggressive cut without losing muscle ? I’m thinking 700-800 kcal daily deficit from 1 hr cardio daily but NO weight training. Possible ? Just trying to lose a quick 10 lbs.

No, but it will help. Do you have time to lose it the proper way which is about 1-2lbs a week at most?

Thanks…yes I can keep it to 2 lbs weekly, was mostly just curious if the TRT would enable me to mostly skip the weights during that period so I can just focus on cardio and dietary deficit.

No. True TRT will only be an advantage in that your hormones won’t tank with extreme diets or overtraining. But you still only have healthy levels of Test it’s not PED levels.

To @blshaw’s point: healthy physiological test levels and 1g protein/ lbs bodyweight is kind of the baseline assumption with which diets on this site will be written.

Just not lifting weights alone isn’t great for muscle retention, then add in the cardio and the cal deficit … IDK that TRT hormone levels would stop your muscles from shrinking.

Nope you’re probably going to gain 5-10 pounds of water weight just starting trt.
