I’ve recently started Trt I’m 51 in decent shape, wellness dr put me on 7 supplements saw palmetto, boron, vit D, pregnenolone, pumpkin seed oil ,beta sisterol and omega 3 fish ,dr also prescribed 1mg anastrozole 1 time a week I inject 2 times a week .25cc of testosterone cyp 200ml, I’m into my 6th week, pumps are way better, sex drive is up, but now I’m experiencing very soft erections, where as I never was before,I’m puzzled, is it to much T or supplements or anastrozole, any input would be appreciated
Too much going on man. I’d get bloodwork in two weeks to verify what’s going on so far.
What was your bloodwork before TRT? Might be worth stopping the AI and seeing how you respond for 8 weeks.
Just because it’s me having what I have, I’m inclined to think it’s this. No doctor myself, but I’d drop beta sitosterol as it inhibits 5 alpha reductase.
He is at 100mg a week. But I do agree with dropping the AI.
@tbegnr51 did your pregnenalone test come back low? The rest seems fine. Where were your TT & FT numbers before you started? How many weeks ago did you start?
In regard to Beta-Sisterol:
When do I need to call the doctor?
Signs of a very bad reaction. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Go to the ER right away.
Very bad throwing up
Very bad loose stools
**Problems getting an erection in men**
Your erection quality are tied to your estrogen levels, if estrogen is low or high you can expect erectile problems. It might be that it’s too earlier in treatment to be expecting erections to be 100%, after all these are hormones we’re talking about, hormones aren’t like party drugs that provide instant relief.
There are numerous things that could be going on, some guys have more than just low testosterone going on and need a good doctor to be able to figure it out. I’ve been on TRT for 2 1/2 years and still having problems because not everything was addressed.
Anastrozole can cause problems, while it can lower estrogen, it can mess up lipids and cause a fluid imbalance. My erections go soft the moment I take anastrozole, libido is murdered and sex is the furthest thing from my mind.
You have too many moving parts, the supplements should have been added one by one instead of throwing a bunch of things at your TRT protocol.
Many men report issues with Preg supplementation. That would be the first thing I’d drop.
The problem with your dr is he has too many moving parts. You should’ve started just with test. THEN, after testing blood, and based upon how you’re feeling, add other components.
Too many moving parts here.
Thanks for the input,appreciate it
What are preg supplements
Pregnenolone.
Do you think the dr prescribed the aristozole to early in my Therapy it’s been 6 weeks and I’ve been on it since day 1
Too early? You shouldn’t be on it at all unless you desperately need it and have symptoms that don’t resolve for weeks to months.
So yeah. Def too early.
Thank you
I started on 1mg/week of anastrozole when I started TRT and had issues as well. It took me a while before I finally stopped the anastrozole but when I did it made a major difference. Libido will take a little while to come back so don’t expect to be “fixed” the day after you stop. It took a couple months for me.
Yeah there was a big mix up somewhere and my prescription read 1 a day and I did what it read for about 2 weeks and a buddy told me I should question my Dr and sure enough it was supposed to read once a week ,thanks for the input
If you were taking 1mg anastrazole a day for 2 weeks I would bet your e2 is in the toilet still. I’m guessing that is a big part of your issue.
1mg daily dosing is what is used in breast cancer treatment where they want estrogen at 0.
Anastrazole shouldn’t be prescribed out of the gate. First testosterone. Then get bloods and assess numbers with how one feels. THEN modify.
Your body may WANT the extra estrogen. You may feel good with it. However, your dr didn’t consider that.
The most you can do is read as much as you can on TRT. Drs are generally clueless. Inform yourself.
Run from this practice.
I would not trust anything he has prescribed to you. His judgment will be flawed.
