TRT at High Elevation/Altitude?

Simple concern. I’m planning a trip to yellow stone in May. Is TRT safe to take at 5000 to 8000 feet? I was just in sequoia this week for New Years. That’s about 5k. But I wasn’t there very long. I def felt the altitude.

I’m in 150mg a week split up e3d. Highs around maybe 1200. Low before next injection around 600.

Last hct reading was 51.3%
RBC and hgb top end of normal.

The vials are in a vacuum, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Depending on where you are from, the elevation may make you feel tired easier and/or dizzy. It can also cause headaches.

Don’t ignore the rest of WY when you’re there. Yellowstone is very commercialized and you will see a ton of RVs and bikers. Google the Beartooth Highway, it will blow your mind. Also Cody and Jackson (Never call it Jackson Hole, that is NOT the name of the town) both have some things to see.

I worked in WY for several years. If you want, feel free to ask.

I love driving through Star Valley. All those ranches and small towns like Afton nestled in the valley surrounded by mountains is beautiful to me. I’m in northern Utah so that is the route I get to drive if I want to go in the Jackson way and the drive itself is a highlight for me.

Agreed 100%. I did several projects there. Had a chance to buy 5 acres back in early 2000’s and I didnt do it. Water rights and everything. Regret it so much now. It would be worth a small fortune.

Ha good to know. I’ve been to YS before. It was crowded :/. I drive from sol cal (San Diego) to Yellowstone. The drive through all those states is NUTS. some of those areas feel like wonderland or a painting.

I guess what I need to make sure is that taking T shots isn’t going to combine with the elevation and throw my blood numbers into the red while I’m there.

I dont think so. Actually, on TRT you have more red cells which hold oxygen. You may feel better than in times past.

If you’re going to have your car, then seriously consider driving the Beartooth Highway. It tops out at 10,000 feet and you will see glaciers and spectacular views. I starts in Cody and goes up to Red Lodge MT. Do it in the morning and have lunch in Red Lodge. Trust me on this one.

I’m searching google earth for it. Got coordinates by chance?

just use google, not google earth. Take the Chief Joseph highway out of Cody then to the Beartooth.

Not sure what what you route you are taking but imagine you may be taking I15 through Utah. If so, rather than drive all the way through to Idaho Falls, Idaho on I15, (I believe that is the way a lot of people would go for the freeway driving) I recommend getting off in Brigham City, Utah and take Highway 89. Cache Valley, Logan Canyon, Bear Lake and Star Valley make a nice scenic route.

Agreed. Star Valley is really nice then you go up thru Hoback Junction and follow the Snake river into Jackson. You also HAVE to stop at Dornan’s Bar in Moose which is north of Jackson. Go in, order a beer and take it on the back patio. There you will see this:
