TRT and Drug Test for Sport?

A friend of mine is on TRT. he is interested in a drug tested cycling event. They test for T:E 4:1 ratio. If he takes low dose (140 mg week test cyp) would he test positive?Total test levels are around 800-900. If test cyp is banned how long would he have to go off to ensure its not in his system?

Do you know if it is USADA testing?

Probably, I know a guy taking 500mg a week who popped positive with a 46:1 ratio.

It’s the ratio, so even a low total amount will flag it. I do not know for sure, but would guess at least a month. If he shuts down his own production, then any amount in him will be exogenous, which will blow the ratio.

What about using testo suspension?

I’ve used it, but not in a drug tested competition. Presumably, you could use it closer to the competition, but once you stopped, I don’t know where your natural levels would be. They would probably need the same recovery time as with the esters.

So how do they do it?

Especially, how do they get away with it when it comes to the WADA drug testing?

So if e2 were increased enough he’d pass the test?

The T:E is testosterone to epitestosterone, not estrogen or estradiol.

Ah ok. Guess I learned something today.

This is as regards to doping tests, anyway. I believe a lot of guys around here talk about the T : E2 ratio, but that’s a different subject.

WADA is getting better, they freeze samples so they can go back and check them years later as the technology improves. Prior to the '16 Olympics, they went back and caught some from the Beijing ('08) and London ('12) Olympics. Ilya Iliin, arguably the best weightlifter in the world, was suspended and missed the Rio Olympics.

Used to be, you could stop Dianabol three weeks prior to testing and pass. Not anymore. Guys are using peptides now, insulin, some designer steroids yet to be found (they will be), etc.
