Well you were below 30 on that list lab and I think below 20 free t. It’s the only thing that I can think of. Your doc doesn’t understand what we are saying . Guys improve lipids and so many other issues like blood pressure by raising their dose to a better level. The older we get the more protection and benefits of trt we need.
Quick question @unreal24278
Am currently taking a beta blocker and and an ARB for dilated cardiomyopathy.
I wanted to introduce metformin to improve my insulin sensitivity and reduce visceral fat. And all the good stuff I hear about metformin .Am by no means over weight. My BMI is normal.
I read a couple things about using an arb with metformin increases chances of lactic acidosis. I can do without taking it.
What is your take ? Should I just forget it?
Thank you. @highpull if u also have feedback.
I would forgo the metformin for the time being, especially since the plan is to eventually d/c one or both hypertension meds anyway.
@systemlord any feedback?
Lactic acidosis is relatively uncommon in individuals taking metformin, aside from elderly patients with renal dysfunction, compared to other biguanides.
Why do you have dilated cardiomyopathy though? Rather concerning, have you had previous exposure to various toxins capable of causing such a medical condition? From what I recall you don’t drink or take much in the way of recreational drugs.
I have no idea how I got cardiomyopathy. It’s mild. I recently started BB and ARB in hopes to reverse.
I did work in NYC a couple months after 9/11 for a couple years. I worked a couple blocks from towers but got out of city before towers collapsed so I did not suck up that stuff. Am sure the air quality was poor 2 months after but back to work I went.
Not sure if theirs any connection.
I tried to go back to see if I always had a low EF. Found a nuclear stress test from 12 years ago EF post stress was 51%. No other measurements in report. Stress test was normal. Had echo 7 years ago was 55%.
Now it’s 45 as per cardiac mri and echo.
I read ARB have some affect on glucose cause studies say people on candesartan report less cases of new diabetes. Perhaps why I read that there’s an increased risk of lactid acidosis when taken with ARB.
I just am dwelling way too much on this metformin. I like all the benefits but not sure if I should introduce to my current medication cocktail. I am not prediabetic.
If you aren’t prediabetic there’s no necessity (from a medical standpoint) to be adding in/taking metformin.
I took labs yesterday realized I wrote down the pregnenolone test which takes 7-10 days to run. I think I wanted the progesterone one. Damn
Anyway Can I use the pregnenolone test to access if I should take preg supp?
Yeah man. Optimize that shit. Don’t forget to get DHEA done at some point too.
Did that too. Thing is since that preg test takes 7-10 days lab Corp won’t send me the report until they get all results in.
Now I need to bother the drs office to get a partial.
My question is difference between pregnenolone v progesterone test? Can I use either to determine my levels accurately.
preg is a precursor of prog so no you can’t use that test to asses since preg can be converted into a bunch of different stuff.
So if mr preg comes back normal I will not supplement? Right.
Also I am going to start fish oil. Probably get dr to prescribe lovaza they have generic now.
Anything I need to watch for in terms of it affecting my testosterone or estradiol levels??
I mean if you have symptoms of low preg then you may want to optimize but otherwise Id leave it.
According to the one true king of the north, her - majesty Dr Rhonda Patrick, the best fish oil (non prescription) is Carlsons. I take it erry day. I better live an extra 17 years because it ain’t cheap.
I hear that. I pay $42 for Nordic Natural Cod liver oil and take it a Tbsp at a time. I better get a few extra years!
Anyone know why my cholesterol always this Low. I am not on a low fat diet.
My blood lipids came in. I took labs yesterday.
Cholesterol 137
Triglycerides 227 high
LDL 58
HDL 34 low
Not sure about the cholesterol but what’s up with your triglycerides?
Just a guess, but I know that cholesterol can be converted to T, so maybe you have good conversion going on?
My triglycerides always high. Limit is 150. Sometimes it gets closer to 150.
Cardiologist says treats when over 300. Under 300 he says nutrition and exercise fix.
Remember my plaque and calcium score was 0.
My ldl is finally on the low end. I wonder if Me taking glucomannan has lowered my cholesterol more.
I tested my pregnenolone but if my cholesterol is low I bet u my preg is low.
