So I got my blood work results and the only thing that is “out of norm” is my cholesterol and triglycerides. Here are the values:
HDL 38 (yeah I know it’s low and I’m including more omega 3s in my diet now)
LDL 30 calculated (w/e that means)
triglycerides 325 (apparently the upper limit is 200)
Now, the doc is saying that my triglycerides were high cuz I had a high fat meal like 6 hours before so i shouldn’t worry about it.
I guess my question is: Does that make sense? Is there anything I should be worried about?
I can give you w/e other necessary info/values if it’s needed

Wait your LDL is 30? Is that correct?
The HDL is low but cardiovascular training can also help to bring that up along with the Omegas.

Yeah, my LDL is 30. HDL is 34. And my cholesterol to HDL ratio is 3.8. Total Cholesterol 130.
I’m fucking confused cuz ever since i started eating eggs, and all kinds of meat and cheese, it’s been dropping, which is contrary to popular belief. I remember that before both of them were higher. I’m sure that lifting on a regular basis has a lot to do with it, but I’m still confused how is it so low. And the high triglycerides add to my confusion

HDL is not horribly low. I think they want you to be over 40 so you are kinda close. You want that LDL to be low and a total count under 199 is desired. I have just never seen LDL that low before.
The triglycerides may turn out to be fine is a test was to be done with a true fasting period.
I would like to hear what others think about that LDL level.
I think the desired fasting period is between 9-12 hours. No calories at all during that period. The main reason that I hate having my lipid profiles checked.
Lol dude I’m not lying about it. I remember my LDL being about 42 before. And yeah, I ate a fatty meal within 6 hours before that, so that might be it about the triglycerides

I’m not calling you a liar, I guess I am just used to my own LDL levels being a little bit higher than that, but I have high cholesterol.

I think your LDL should be 96. Total = HDL + LDL. They test for total and HDL and calculate LDL using those values

The formula used for total cholesterol actually includes a factor of Triglycerides. The way I have seen it expressed is HDL + LDL + Tri/5 = Total. In this case that the would work out to 133 which is close to what your total said.
