TRIBEX Past Expiration, Safe?

I moved a while ago and lost my bottle of TRIBEX in the process, which just now resurfaced. Problem is it expired in 10/05. Probably a dumb question, but is it that big of a deal if I take them? Is it all that unsafe? I really hate the idea of just throwing it away.

Anyway, hoping for a response from someone @ Biotest…

5 years past expiration? Wow!

Biotest will probably tell you to buy a new bottle, and I would agree with them. Not that the stuff is dangerous, but instead it has probably lost all potency and would do little or nothing.

The protodioscin component is quite stable and I’d expect it would be fine. However there are other saponins for which I just can’t say at the moment, as I don’t recall their structures.

I’ll look into it further today for you as to whether it seems likely that the stability of the other components would be great enough to probably allow you the extra 5 years.

You can send it to me and I will take it and let you know how it went.

Bill Roberts, you are the man. I really appreciate that you’re willing to go to the trouble.

Haha, I’ll probably take them regardless but thanks anyway…

No trouble at all really, as there’s an article in the literature giving the structure of every known saponin found in Tribulus terrestris.

It turns out that they all appear to be quite stable. I’d expect the product to still be good.

Awesome! That’s great news, thanks again.
