Treatment of Bush Is a Disgrace

 1. We have a choice what church we attend.

2)Typically, we choose to attend churches where the pastors share similar beliefs or ideals.

 1. Obama attended Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years.

If you don’t like the direction of leadership at a church, you don’t attend anymore. That is why people wondered. Yes, Obama did say that he “profoundly disagrees” with some of the statements of Rev. Wright, but he still attended the church. To many, that is worrisome.

It’s not like every family can up and leave the U.S. if they don’t like the leader of their country, it isn’t as feasible.

Now, all that being said, some people played the whole thing to the extreme, yes, but you can’t assume that everyone did so.

Pay back is a bitch.

I freely criticized Bush. I have freely criticized McCain.

I am going to do the same with Obama. Probably a little more so, since I never wanted him in the first place.

Now, what is hypocritical about that?

For every ONE of you, there were 30 JeffR’s.

I suppose you deny this of course.
I think your counter is broke. If there were that many JeffR’s - Obama would be back in Chi-Town right now nursing his wounds.

I could have sat in his church and held onto my personal views quite well. I’ve heard worse in some Baptist churches. However, clearly the voice of those who have experienced it falls beneath that of those who never have.

Dude - NOBODY is that charismatic. Maybe the REAL Jesus - but he doesn’t do public appearances anymore.

But why would you? I wouldn’t sit in any Baptist church for any extended period of time if they were to spout such extremist views like that. Maybe I’m different.

Maybe I’m not understanding what your comparing here X. Are you comparing oneforships relation and beliefs WRT others here and Obama and Rev. Wrights relationship?

You read his post that I quoted and then couldn’t understand what I meant by bringing up Rev Wright?

This board was literally filled with threads and posts about how so many worry about Obama’s mental state by bringing up Rev Wright.

Even when other minorities tried to inform of the social differences between how blacks or whites would respond to many of those same words, it was still pushed that Rev Wright somehow spoke for Obama and that this mneans he hates America.

If we are no longer projecting the views of one onto another, then all of that crap was a waste of internet bandwidth.

I still have only seen one person reject this “Obama is the enemy” bullshit who claimed to vote for McCain.
I never claimed Obama was the enemy. I do have a problem with someone who considers a racist one of his mentors. I also have a problem with someone who associates with unrepentant terrorists.

You wouldn’t leave a church that preached what this place preached? You would attend for 20 years and then try and claim your line of thinking is not the same?

As for the not understanding, I understood. I guess it was a little hard to believe that someone who claims to be so intelligent could compare a 20 year personal relationship to people who have 100 posts on a web forum.

The numbers would indicate that I’m not the only one who understood why people feel like Rev Wright and also why no one believes that was the topic of discussion every Sunday.

It’s ok to feel that way as long as others feel that way? Thats what we call a hate group. If McCain claimed David Duke as one of his mentors would that have sat well with you? It wasn’t a discussion every Sunday because the media covered up quite alot of football bats for Obama.

Clearly, you are right, I am wrong and so is the majority of this country that voted for him.

It simply could not be that maybe, just maybe your perspective is a little too narrow.

Nor yours, I might add.

Oh your right, I must be wrong because I have a different point of view. I would wager a guess that quite a few people who voted for Obama did it based on the biased media coverage and the fact that they knew nothing of Wright. Do you think that most people who vote have a clue why they are voting for who they are voting for? More and more your posts seem to have a hint of anti-white to them.

What the hell? Who in this country didn’t hear about Rev Wright?

You are now claiming not enough people knew? As if it wasn’t covered on every news station and newspaper? WTF?

Wait, so when Obama wins, it is because people are uneducated…but when Bush wins, it means everyone who voted for him has a BS degree or better with a huge focus on politics?

LOL. Yes, anti-white must be the new buzz word for common sense.

Everybody’s a “hint” of anti-something.

Did I say Obama or did I generalize by encompassing all voting parties? You were the one who stated you understood why people felt like Wright, not me. Sounds like an anti-white statement to me.

I personally can not understand why anyone feels like Wright, David Duke, Hitler or Musllim extremists. I don’t have hate for groups of people based on the past or their beliefs.

Understanding why someone who grew up through the Civil Rights movement and the racism of the 60’s and 70’s has a hostile view towards those in power during that time makes you “anti-White”? Really? And you DON’T think your perspective is narrow?

Wow.

WRT Wright that makes it alright to continue to spew hate? You would think that someone who experienced that would want to stop the cycle of hate, not continue it. Continuing this cycle is narrow minded, not condeming this cycle is narrow minded.

Oh yeah, because racism died 40 years ago, huh?
Professor X wrote:

I would argue that a large number of votes went to Obama because racism is still alive and well, and many whites feel guilty about that, so to ease their conscience, they voted for Obama regardless of policy.

Just a thought.
