BTW, if anyone has Skyfire, you could get some good coin for him - especially if he’s still in the box. I think there was a lawsuit with the toy company that made Robotech because the jet he transformed into was identical to the VF-15 Valkrie so they pulled Skyfire off the shelves.

here is some trivia:
did you know that the cartoon was originally conceived just as a way to market the toy line?
I can believe it, but much like GI Joe back in the day, it created a life of its own. The characters began to stand out more than the simple fact that they were robots. Who didn’t like Bumblebee?

LOL. I remember my mom wouldn’t let me get Megatron because he could turn into a gun. This was in spite of the fact that we kept a rifle hanging on the wall in the den with bullets right next to it.

Hmm…The Guardian GoBot Leader-1 turned into an F-15 replica. Exact look alike. I wonder if they ran into probs with that.

The prob wasn’t what plane it turned into. The prob is Skyfire was an EXACT rip-off of the Robotech Valkyrie VF-1 (15). Plane AND robot. I had one of each.
Attached is a pic of the Valyrie from the Robotech site.

Gotcha
The most powerful transformer was Bruticus when he was operational. Bruticus took over cybertron by himself, and the autobots and decepticons had to team up, but they still did not defeat him. In the end, the only reason he could be defeated was that when starscream created the combaticons(who combined to form bruticus), he added in an off switch. Talk about lame!
Also, omega surpreme and devastator have an interesting history. Omega supreme was a guardian robot, which means it was his task to guard a city on cybertron. When megatron first took control of the constructicons(who were once good), he had them trick omega supreme into leaving the area and letting them protect his city while they actually destroyed it entirely. The few times omega supreme and deavastator do clash, however, Omega supreme always prevailed but the constructicons managed to escape.
My absolute favorite episode of transformers was when starscream was plotting to take over the decepticons by freezing sound wave and megatron in this tunnel thing. Unfortunately he also froze himself, so the decepticons were left to lead themselves. Several different factions formed, and really really stupid things happened. For example, astro train constructed an army of trains to gather energon cubes for him, but all they could do was blow their horn and go backwards and forwards, eventually ending up crashing in a big mess and breaking a water main, flooding the entire city somehow. Blitzkreig commanded the constructicons to construct a giant maze outside of his football stadium base. The maze ended up being huge, and some nameless autobots ended up getting lost in the maze and eventually destroyed by blitzkreig. In the end, megatron was unfrozen by the destruction of the city due to flooding, and every decepticon vying for control had a giant battle in the football stadium with megatron prevailing and thus regaining control.
Every time optimus prime and megatron fought in the series directly, optimus prime always prevailed. In fact, optimus prime was designed specifically for the purpose of defeating megatron. For some reason in that episode, though, megatron could not even harm optimus with anything at all. Only one 1on1 battle did megatron ever win against optimus prime. That one, though, was also ridden with cheating. Megatron had taken all the circuits that gave each decepticon his special ability and deposited them in himself so he was a super decepticon.
Transformers does have major size issues though. When skyfire was first introduced into transformers, all of the other transformers would only measure up to about his knee at the most in height. Other transformers could also not harm him, as he was very large and powerful(albeit peaceful). By the end of the season, skyfire was almost regular size, although when he transformed into his jet plane form he was as big as he used to be, and everyone could fit inside of him.
You know to tell you the truth I’ve recently watched all of season 1, 2, and most of season 3 of transformers. I couldn’t stand season 3 because that was after the movie when optimus prime was gone, galvatron was the main villian(with a new voice actor), and sound wave was a background character with no important role whatsoever. Not to mention rodimus prime was the new autobot leader. And the autobots controlled cybertron with the decepticons living on some barren crap planet and attacking them all the time.
Oh and I had to spill the beans on this one. Did you know that the quintisons actually created cybertron? They created the transformers and decepticons, starting everything. Those are those four faced things in the movie that live with the sharkicons or whatever they are. The ones that put on that trial and are eventually defeated by grimlock.
I wonder if they’ll include the female autobots in the movie? that would be horrible!
Okay… Waaay too much transformers.
Man you know your shit!
I know about the quintissons history. Wasnt Unicron their creation also? I remember something about Unicron and the Matrix being linked in some way but I cant remember where I read that. Will have to look it up.
Sorry but I have to say this…
Ulysses 31
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Didn’t Primacron create Unicron?

Yeh thats right. Then he made Tornedron to destroy unicron because unicron got outta hand. Cant remember too much past that. I know the Oracle was involved in there too.
just an excellent post!

haha, now I’ll need to look out for this episode. I do wonder why Astrotrain didn’t utilize an army of shuttles though…

Nope. He was actaully a librarian on cybertron during the war when megatron invaded and killed sentinel prime (autobot leader at the time). Optimus had never faught at all before this. It was the autobot council who intrusted the matrix to optimus and anytime that happens, a transformer undergoes a metamorphisis of sorts (although Ultra Magnus never did in the movie - the only thing I can figure on that one was that he was never “destined” to possess it) and has “PRIME” attached to their name (hence Sentinel prime and Rodimus Prime) and BAM - out comes Optimus prime. Optimus never wanted to lead, but he took it on. You didn’t say no the autobot council.

Here’s a question; Did the Autobots also need energon cubes to function? If they did, why were they never interested in procuring any? Its always the decepticons stealing the stuff…
Yeah, they needed them. I can’t remember why they weren’t as hard up for them though.

Maybe they had a more reliable dealer.

Any of you guys played the recent PS2 Transformers game based off the Armada series? Veeeeerrry cool. Though I would have loved them to do the orginal gen1/2 stuff.
Don’t know if anyone previously posted this, but if you like transformers and Star Wars, check this link out:
It’s a Star Wars Transformers Deluxe Millennium Falcon???
