Would yall belleive that I still have Shockwave, Trypticon, Metroplex, and Thrust from the original runs of the toys? I also had Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock, and Otimus Prime, but those saw too many hard battles.
If you still had them in the packaging, they would probably be worth something by now. I played with mine too much. The cassette tape dog and bird that came with Soundwave usually had the tape coming off in a couple of weeks.
Is it just me or couldn’t anyone else get a dinobot to transform?
Bring back die-cast toys I say. Pure iron/steel. Toys these days are too damn plasticy. You can’t throw them at walls in frustration anymore.
I enjoy the animation with Beasties/Beast Wars, and the stories were pretty good.
Are you serious? Beast wars was a collosal tub of shit. The graphics, character design and scripts were horrible.

They started out quite slow, but once the Transmetal storyline began, things turned for the better.
Lots of moral questions, and some deaths of important characters.
It’s sad, but the last 5 episodes were the best of the entire show.
They found the arc which contained the original Autobots, and everyone died in one way or the other.

By the way, I’m 28 and never really got over transformers, or visionaries, or mask, or galaxy rangers…
Man, I had forgotten all about MASK and Galaxy Rangers! What about Thundercats?
I’m not going to discuss He-man, though. Sore subject. AF IDMT
I had the M.A.S.K. Boulder play set. It was the gas station that converted into a fortress. That was awesome. Damn, we need to start an 80’s toy thread.

And here’s one I didn’t remember (no cross over):
Casey Kasem … Cliffjumper (voice)
But it shouldn’t be a surprise. Kasem did many voices on TV. Shaggy, Robin, the manager from Josie and the Pussycats, and probably more that I don’t know.

Wait, which two G1 D-Cons got turned into Scourge and Cyclonus when Unicron made Megatron into Galvatron? Wasn’t Shockwave turned into Scourge? If so, he was in fact second in command. I know that all the jets, minus him and starscream got turned into the Sweeps.

I think Skywarp became syclonus, and then the Insecticons, and I think Dirge got turned into Scourge and the Sweeps.

Pardon my interruption of the Transformer’s discussion but is the car PGA posted on the first page the 2007 Camaro?

Um, thanks I guess. You basically told a child that there won’t be a Christmas this year and he has to wait for next year. I love the old muscle car look and want it now.

if skywarp got turned into cyclonus, then i think it was thundercracker who got turned into scourge. i’m positive their was only 5 decepticons aside from megatron that got turned by unicron. but a whole lot more of the sweep made it into the story.
shockwave wasn’t second in command long - he constantly betrayed megatron and was always trying to subvert him. soundwave was number two the longest.
Really? Is that true? I can’;t remember that well…

megatron was better than galvatron anyday of the week
x10!!
you had to have read the comics and novels because they never showed that in the cartoons. it sucked because shockwave was basically never in the cartoons. a guest spot here and there.

I had my Soundwave stolen at school back in the day. The tape bots didn’t last very long in those brutal playground battles. I used to also have Metroplex (cousin broke him) and a G1 Fortress Maximus (bought it in 1987), which was the biggest Transformer ever made at 2 feet tall and about 10 lbs. He saw a bit of wear and tear, but was still in pretty good shape. I even had all the accessories and original box…ended up selling it on Ebay for almost $500 last year.
