To Prof x: Movies like ATL, Baby Boy, Soul Plane, and Roll Bounce just set me off. Just hate those kind of movies…but Soul Plane is its own kind of horrible. That set black people back a few years.

Out of the ones you listed, I only saw Baby Boy and didn’t consider it to be that bad at all. Like I said, it is nowhere near a “favorite”, but it was watchable. I understand what you mean by some current “blaxploitation” films. You can add in “Diary of a mad black woman” and others as well. However, you can’t just toss them all into the same pile because of standouts like Boyz n The Hood and Menace To Society. Jason’s Lyric wasn’t bad at all either and marked a specific time in my life while I was growing up.
Either way, I still don’t see why you hate Tyrese because of 2 Fast 2 Furious. It was a popcorn movie…which was exactly the audience they were shooting for. the same with the new one Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift. It is all the same thing directed at the same people.
Go watch Four Brothers and tell me if you still hate him.
