Transformers 2

Watched it today…I enjoyed it…BUT there is way too much “Michael Bay” in this one. Perfect example: the “twin” Autobots…tsk…tsk,Michael Bay.

Megan Fox…she’s pretty and all,but she annoyed me. Enough with the glam crap(as someone mentioned already). As much as her mouth was open and pouty…there should have been sandcastles on her lips in the desert. I’ve seen Pre-K kids who can act more convincingly than her…she stood out like a sore thumb…with an infection…lol.

But there is enough action and “wow” factors to soothe the pain of terrible acting and crudeness. As for whether you will enjoy it or not,it is definitely worth going to the theater to find out for yourself. [/quote]

You should see how pathetic the radio media here in LA is perceiving those twins. They are accused of being racist and stereotyped. Perhaps, but for suck’s sake, it’s a movie. I don’t go to movies to find life’s meaning or to have some internal awakening. I just want to be entertained. I also look forward to “Public Enemies” coming out next week with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Not trying to hijack.

MINOR SPOILER:

Yeah,I wouldn’t be crying about them being racist…just stupid and irrelevant as Autobots, imo. They had way too much screen time as the other Autobots took backseat to them in the movie. Any Autobot that cuts a Decepticon in half deserves more screen time than those Jar-Jar’bots.

Also,I thought the Autobots in whole were too displaced…would of liked to see more team work and unity…and more of the Transformers fighting each other…not the Decepticons vs. humans…then vs. Autobots. But I still enjoyed it…and will be watching again soon.

AWESOME movie, like stated above hot chicks, explosions and robots what more can you ask for? I really liked the twin robots i thought they were hilarious.

Amazing. Yeah, it was heavy on the Bay, the kindergarten humor gets old fast and the twin robots were completely pointless and as someone mentioned detracted from the development of other autobots, but still amazing. Watching Optimus Prime wreck shit was the most fun I’ve had at a movie in a long time. My girl would nudge me every few minutes and whisper “that’s so cool!” We’re planning on catching it at the IMAX next weekend. This totally blows the first out of the water.

LA radio sucks so hard since 97.1 flipped formats. I miss Frosty, Heidi and Frank…those 3 used to get me through work every day.

Giant robot deathmatch movie and LOTS of hot girl shots…mmmm…Megan Fox…mmmmmmm…

I fucking love this movie. Explosions, giant fighting robots, Megan Fox, tanks/jets. What else could you possibly need in a movie?

I’m surprised at the amount of positive reactions to the movie here. I loved the first one but I really hated part 2…

The first one was a good action movie with the right amount of humour in it. This one seemed like a comedy with some action scenes. And not even a good comedy like the Hangover but more like… I don’t know… fucking Boat trip or something… To me Transformers 2 was nothing but lame joke after lame joke. The few good jokes that were in there were completely overshadowed by the multitude of awful jokes just before and after them. Those twin autobots annoyed the crap out of me and watching that little decepticon hump Megan Fox’ leg was just embarrasing.

That being said, yes Megan Fox was unbelievably hot and the reason I didn’t walk out of the cinema before the end. Also, some of the action scenes were nice. But those damn jokes every 10 secs just ruined the whole thing for me.

!!!MINOR SPOILERS (continuing on Big_Boss’ point)!!!

I agree. I actually felt like there weren’t enough Autobots in the movie and they didn’t get enough screen time. There was one Autobot that I don’t even recall hearing his name mentioned even though he was seen during the second half of the movie. I’m kind of disappointed that there wasn’t more dialog for the other Autobots as well (mainly Ironhide and Ratchet).

!!!END SPOILERS!!!

Overall though, I enjoyed it despite the movie suffering from the usually Michael Bay stuff.

I need to see it again just to process all the action.

Transformers 2 sets new record with 60.6 million domestically on it’s first DAY. Previous record was held by Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix at 44.2 million.

Honestly, I thought this one blew number one out of the water… gone was the awkward humor from the parents and they replaced it with the twins. I loved the twins as they remind me of a buddy of mine and his identical twin that talked a lot of shit and used to fight all the time… their dialog was funnier, and my only regret is they didnt have a bigger part in the fight scenes, though they did lay down a good beat down…

Screw the critics, its was worth the ride…

I would have loved more dialog between autobots and what not, but I still enjoyed the movie…

Also, I thought the leg humping was funny and really give the bot a persona which I felt was really missing in parts of the last movies…

spoiler

I wish they had given a lot more time to the female robots, until doing some reading today I didnt realize all 3 of the motorcycles where female…

Also, I wish soundwave had more air time, but I enjoyed the beat wars throw back of his lackey…

I still think dino bots v devastator would have been cooler…

Dam i want to watch this movie again :frowning:

That’s kind of what I was getting at in my post. There’s just so much to process with the action that I need to see it twice just to absorb it all.

That’s something that bugs me about a movie like this. There are some scenes where there is so much going on, it’s downright hard to keep up with all of it. Maybe it’s just me and my brain not keeping up, but its just jibberish at a point.

MINOR SPOILER

I was disappointed at Devastator, he didn’t look like much of anything but a robotic lizard to me. Also, I think I aged a year for the time it took for him to transform. Maybe I am used to the cartoon, but damn.

I was kinda dissapointed about the lack of dinobots they had the perfect oportunity to introduce them but chose not too, maybe in the third movie they can still do it but it would be a stretch(they search through the prime tomb, see that there was a robot dinosaur?)

also where the fuck was hot rod and magnus? you need those two to be introduced as they play a huge role in the cartoon and animated movie which is what I’m assuming the third and final movie is going to be based on

My thoughts:

It was an epic story that they had to condense to fit a 2.5 hour movie. In fact, because of this, the story went on WAYYYY too fast and with no character connection nor real interraction. There was TONS of intriguing points that could have been explored but they just blew by and through them.

THe hand-to-hand scenes were not that discernable. I like to see the arm breaks and leverages (the 1st movie did that well) but it didn’ happen in this movie and it was difficult to follow the action.

Thre were a lot of decepticons in Egypt that I wanted to know more about (Who is that? What do they turn into, etc) but was left hanging.

When I saw Ratchet and Ironhide, I really wanted more time hearing/seeing them…watching more interractions…but it didn’t happen (AT ALL!!!).

Even Bumblebee was hurried in his appearances, as well as Optimus.

AND WHERE THE HECK DID THAT ASTEROID THING COME FROM (some b/g would have been good).

In summary, Bay is not to blame for this movie. I get the feeling that they handed him a script that was of epic proportion (and should have been 2 or even 3 movies instead of only one), and he did the best he could with it. Again, it would have been better to split it into 2 movies and take more time in developing the chrs and story (maybe do it Matrix 2 and 3 style and separate releasal of the other part a few months later).

And those two little “gangsta wannabe” autobots should have died horribly and early in the movie.

Still…I did enjoy it overall. My mark for it is B-.

disclaimer…i DID see it here in China, so maybe they changed/edited a few parts, but no way I can know that or not…maybe the screen wasn’t quality enough…and the sound definitely sucked at the theatre I was at…so maybe you al could see some things I couldn’t (maybe the hand to hand was clear to you, etc)*
AD

It was alright in my opinion. Those gangsta robots were stupid and pointless to the story. I agree that the story seemed rushed.

Did Megan Fox get Botox? Like there was anything wrong with her face in the first place. She looks like a jacked up porn star in the second movie! It just didn’t look natural…

I wonder when they are going to come out with Voltron? Defender of the universe?

There were robots in this movie? Shit, I just watched Megan Fox the whole time…
