Training Upper Body with Negative Dips and Chins Only

If you are making these great gains who cares why it’s working, be happy that you are making good progress! I can’t remember the last time I felt like I made good progress on a new routine.

According to @planethealh he progressed at least 5 lbs every workout on his excercises in pyramid fashion. There you have the pathway to endless gains in infinity. LOL

Yes, just like every other pyramid scheme it was a farce! Time has little to do with infinity and jelly donuts !! Who said that? Hint, it wasn’t Arthur Jones.

Doubt it man… negative chins did wonders for my biceps.

to expand on the idea of negative only is that the positive portion of the rep is the most exhaustive, and for hypertrophy ONLY positive failure is required. And even though negative only training is my go to for dramatic hypertrophy , what im really using it for is to ENSURE that positive failure is hit. Because we short ourselves mentally and quit before we really and truly hit failure, but if you’re pushing yourself to a negative failure, then you can be rest assured that positive failure has been achieved- thus stimulus is there and now you can leave it alone and come back training session.

Based on recent evidence — and assuming you did them correctly — it may have been the slow descent into the final stretched portion of the movements that made the difference.
