Log-Clean once, press for reps in 60s@ 200lbs: 9 reps, finished 1st
Truck Pull-13.1ft-4th
32kg (70lb) KB Snatch or C+J, 60s: 19 reps-1st
DL Medley 407-495ish-570ish w/sandbag carry in between reps: finished everything but the 570 in 26s-3rd
Stones 240-275-290-310-325 to pretty low platform. Stones started about 8 ft from the platform so they had to be either carried or rolled. Carried the 240 and rolled the rest. 46s-5th

Overall: Lost by 1 pt. To add insult I also lost the tiebreaker for 2nd on bodyweight so I finished 3rd. The partner who came with finished 2nd in open HW. A couple W’s would’ve been nice…i’ll just leave it at that.

Moral of the story? I’m athletic and I have a fair overhead but my stones and my max strength suck. I’m not happy with the results but i’m ok with the progress on the DL (495 tied my PR, haven’t pulled in a few months except for this past Wednesday) and stones.

Always improving. Supposedly Highland games training tomorrow…that may be an iffy proposition.

Was tight as hell, not sore so much but still as all hell. Low back is still WAY tight from the pulling. Didn’t help that the only warmup bar they offered was loaded to 245 and the first pull was 400ish. The sled helped a ton to get some kinks out. Bum achilles is surprisingly good right now after the truck pull fiasco. Three good workouts this week and then going home to see my mom for a few days and get out of town.

I was dragging all day today but got up for this workout and slogged through it; felt like a million bucks afterwards. There’s something to be said for getting something (anything) done at the gym consistently, even if it’s just f’n around with the sled and doing abs. Stretching and snoozing tonight; last workout for a few days coming up tomorrow.

Again, really happy with my pulling movements. Next week i’m thinking 315 for the low GM and 385 for the high GM. I felt like there was a fair bit left in the tank, esp to the high pin. Next 4 days off to relax and eat mom’s home cooking. Moght try to squeeze some track work to test my heel, but i’m not counting on it.

I did a whole lot of nothing the last 4 days and then went straight from the plane to the gym. Welcome home…

-I got up to 500ish for a couple longer runs with the yoke and up to 5 plates for 50ft down and back on the sled; Monopoly was on fire today doing some filthy giant sets
-First yoke in a few months; lets see how the wheels feel tomorrow

It’s really annoying when your “period” and “comma” keys both break; it’s a challenge to type and not look like I don’t know how to type or punctuate

9/12 Was a bunch of random; no real event work just some more RE lower stuff
9/13 Another 800ft of dragging and a bunch of abs and hypers

9/14 More RE Upper work; keg presses OH presses some back and some shrugs

It has been kind of nice to be in limbo a bit in training; training hard but having some fun with it
Sometimes it’s tough to have fun when there’s a contest or a show to get ready for because you always feel like you’re behind the curve

I’ve also been a little run down and under-recovered so haven’t been as on edge as I would like; funny how life sometimes gets in the way of training! Or is it the other way around?

Also my hand isn’t getting any better so i’m reluctant to blow it up
