Training begets Serenity

Don’t make me come up and find you on the North side.

Sorry guys for not posting for awhile. Had some issues with family sickness (flu) with wife and both kids with all three going to the hospital at various times and with a 3 and 1yr old it was kinda scary.

I am healing up pretty well. Will start some heavier training again next week and see how the groin feels.

Thanks for asking/caring everyone who posted.

ok heres what we did today for conditioning.

20 (10lb)sledgehammer swings onto tire - flip said 475pd tire 7 times- push sled with 70pds on sled 40 yds then immediate return repeat 4 times.

Fischer

front sqauts 225x3 for 10 sets
bodyweight dips 4x20
dbell rows with fat gripz 70x10 for 5 sets
skullcrushers with fat gripz 115x10 for 4 sets
bicep barbell curls 75x10 for 4 sets

bweight 232

groin is still tender but manageable. Turning 40 in 20 days yikes I still feel like I a kid.

nice work buddy. I’ll be down your way for the next holiday weekend. I will be kinda stuck in the northern suburbs, looking to do a heavy squat/dl session somewhere, maybe check out that new Max HC Garage Gym, or whatever its called, in Waukegan. Invite open if we can make it work.

Cool beans dude. I will try it is my Birthday that weekend and have family coming in and all to see me and my kids. I’m gonna try and get away though. Sat or Sunday?

Glad to read your wife and kids are healthy. Good to have you back.
I turned 40 in August. It didn’t hurt that bad. I only cried a little.

Glad every one is healthy.

Thinking Saturday. Sunday I will be back on the road. It’d be cool if you can make it work. For me it will be a) mandatory training and b) an escape from the in-laws:)

Yes very much on all pulling exercises. It helps alot with my grip issues of my right hand due to the nerve damage from the c5-c6 area.

Also been expirementing with alot of vitamin D upwards of 20,000 iu’s a day and is working real good for energy (?) and less joint/tendonitis pain.

thanks, and that is interesting about a few things…

I have been hitting up that vitamin D as well, but not that hard I hear its all the rage.

need to dust off the A&P books took a massage license years ago, but forgot too much,
I have a Fair amount of cervical damage/impingement and Im sure it manifests elsewhere.

Ok I need to get some fat gripz.

close grip bench 225x3 for 9 sets then the 10th for 16 reps.
t-bar row 1plate up to 5 plates all reps are 8 then 2 plates for 22
dbell press military 60x8,60x8,60x26.
barbell curls 95x5x5 supersetted with overhead tricep rope extensions 100x20x5.

Injuries are going away. Starting too feel good again on my presses.

Fischer, catching up; glad your family an you are doing better. Great job on the close grip.

Deadlifts Deadlifts and more Deadlifts all done feet 5 inches apart.

W/U’s are x5 up to 365.

405x3,425x1,455x1,475x1 and a miss at 515 (hitch caused by groin being tight and not being able to push hips forward)
rack pulls 275x10x10 from mid knee height.

I am really starting to think that higher reps are the way to go for me for alot of reasons. Safety and longevity for starters and I really seem to do better on the higher rep loads. I don’t know, just throwing things out there and mulling over them.

Monday nov 16th.

flat bench (have only done 1 time in last 2.5 yrs due to surgeries) w/u’s then 315x5. not bad
bent over row 205x8 4 sets.
cgb incline. 145x15 for 3 sets
rear pec dec laterals 165x15 for 3 sets.

Not bad benching all things considered.

sidenote participated in a Warhammer fantasy tourney over weekeend and did quite well.

F

Thats amazing after 2.5 years and you still bench 315x5. Did you have any pain benching? I’m assuming you had shoulder surgery.

Nice benchin’

Thanks Steve. remember I have been doing CGB as of late just not so heavy.

The surgery was installing the Pacemaker and how they had to run the lines to my heart they had to first install Pacemaker on right side of chest and run the lines partly into my front delt to come under the pec major and into the pec minor. My heart is centralized instead of off center to left like most people oh yeah it is also turned 90 degrees to the right. you should see my ultrasounds and ecograms of the heart.

My best ever flat bench was 405x2 touch and go with arch -all raw @ bweight 228 and sad to say not natural. All natural was 385 @ bweight of 242.

No pain now due to slowly stretching my pecs and shoulders esp. during dips and always do dislocates everyday. The only pain/discomfort is from the c5-c6 damage causinf nerve impingment of bicep and forearm flexors. I can finally start to curl barbell @ 95 pds again (yay).

Fat gripz are really helping on the pulling/curling movements with strengthening the flexors so I start to pull heavy again without the fucking bar roll out of my hands because my hand went numb.

F

Fischer, I’d love to see your echocardiogram. Its what I do for a living. Good to read you have no pain and the nerve damage seems to be getting better.

Lower body day.

Sqauts w/u’s are 5 reps up to 405 -added belt at 315.
425x3 455x2 -groin still fubared-feels like a real hot burning(painful) sensation when strecthing back and down when descending into the hole.
Rack pulls from just top of knee.close stance heels 4 inches apart.
135x5,225x5x2,315x5,405x5,495x3 add wrist wraps,585x3,675x1 and 315x30 no wraps or belt. oh belt on from 405-675.

bweight 232

My lifting partner got 675x3 (prick) but only got the widowmaker @ 315 for 15 reps -take that sucker!!

all in all good times

Nice work. Still interested in training up in Waukeegan week from Saturday?
