I was diagnosed with a viral infection . I am doing better now and along in the meantime my partner and myself decide to go back to the 5/3/1 method- so after the stupid forced deload .
Oh by the way I picked up the 5/3/1 e-book - good buy.
military press 155x5,165x5, 175x12 (205 max )
close grip palms up pulldowns 190x10 for 5 sets - go up next time
body weight dips 5 sets of 15 add weight next time
wrist curls 95x15 for 3 sets go up to 135 next time went easy being first day back- bweight is 238 after 5 meals.
Looks like this will be the program for the long haul.
Sat/sun both days played with the kids running around w/3 yr old @ a park having a hoot.
starting to finally feel like myself after 3 weeks of not wanting to eat/ no appetite from that viral infection/flu.
started to bring up the protein again to over 300 grams a day to start growing again.
sidenote since I am a trainer and people all the time ask me some inane stuff at times the best is " I can’t gain weight or get bigger for anything" or something close to it. boy does this stuff get frustrating sometimes when it sounds like I said it once or a couple ( I mean million) of times- the most important supplement is " FORK TO MOUTH" end of story . Not NO2 xplode or super duper 18 hour energy drink with whey or whatever is the next biggest thing.
Man I had to tell 1 kid if your NOT crapping 3-5 times a day you do not eat enough. You get the point ?
135x5x2 185x5 185x5 225x3 225x3 275x3 275x3 ( put on belt for 275) had a little left in me no spotter though.
leg curls 130x10 5 sets
calves - 300x20 3 sets
ab wheel with light band attached 3 sets of 10
front sqauts are a little weird for me now because of my condition of polysplenia ( causes slight curvature of the spine) it is a struggle trying too stay upright - I grab the bar in olympic hand position and just try to muscle through it. all in all a good day of lifting.
oh btw ordered my own sled for fathers day - am I stoked can’t wait for this bad boy too arive. It is a good sled with handles to push like a prowler and I have blast straps already to use for upper body work.

Is there something wrong with us?? I asked for the ‘Bull Stregth’ book for fathers day and a safety squat bar for my 40th birthday. Don’t most guys ask for golf clubs and cigars?
@ steeyd thanks for asking all better just underweight by 8 pounds. all is good strength is coming back up - endurance still a little weak.
@eco no way nothing wrong with us at all good sir!! I really detest other “men” who go down down that road to oblivion of the what were and hasbeen route. Resigned to living through their children. Oh and btw you can get a “yoke” that imitates a safety sqaut bar that attaches to a normal sqaut bar far cheaper (and better).
Yep that is the one I am having shipped to me. My friend has one and they work great. The handles are 24 inches and we made 3 positions using tape to designate the levels. Man the lower you put your hands - WOW- welcome to Sled Flu !!!
That is the sled.
I am not a machine, technically speaking I am more like a cyborg or Ironman
Fischer, thanks for the GPP sled stuff you’ve posted. I’m going to hit it hard this weekend. Does the pacemaker ever get in the way when you’re working out?

Yeah it gets in the way.
since I’m Situs Invernus ( everything is opposite) they had to install on right pectoral muscle and run the lines between the pectoral and deltoids- which caused a rotator cuff issue.
Also since my condition lead to Bradycardia ( low heartbeat) they set the low parameter @ 60bpm and the Pacemaker is an Adapta model which is programmable to the loads I impose on my heart. So it leads my heart up the bpm range - my heart used to stutter/miss/triplebeat while trying to accelerate to handle the load now it gets lead a little too fast .
A short story after I first got it installed if I just walked it would go to 180bpm because over my career in sports my heart developed a very strong pulse and the Pacemaker reads it as needing more beats per minute- so after going to the doctor everyday for about a month complaining of excessive heart rate now (WTF) a specialist came in and worked with me the programming so I can try and go back to my former life - somewhat.
So no more boxing/judo/bjj competitions for me - kinda sucks but I have kids now and a great wife I do not want to leave anytime shortly.
Oh and I unofficialy hold the record as having the lowest heart rate and still be able to function normally 18bpm was my lowest with pauses up to 8 seconds- those sucked alot kinda like being on the verge of being choked out then coming back to getting a killer migraine then happening all over again.
Sorry for the rant- so yeah it kinda gets in the way
I knew something was different about you. Glad the pacemaker is keeping you from having those 8 second pauses. Difficult to stay upright with those long pauses.
