Training begets Serenity

Seems like it would be hard to do JM presses in a smith with the fixed plane. But I’ve been struggling with learning these as one smooth movement.

Actually works better as it allows the elbow to move as the bar forces the path/not body porcing the bar path.

Morning work.

5 40 yrd. sprints.
50 kbell swings 60 pounder each arm
100 russian barbell twists using 135.

Squating tonight - volume day, awesome.

Great work. I like seeing the conditioning and strength work like this. I did the Hepburn singles based sessions and it really helped my strength out but it wiped me out. I think I if I had to do over I would have done singles then dropped the weight more for the triples. You’re not doing Hepburn for all of your lifts though I see.

Thanks a million for the front squat help. That’s a lift that I really struggle to do correctly so any help at all is appreciated.

Boy is 2.5 yrs old. He already is messing around with heavy bag and medicine balls i have at the house.

He will start “training” around 5 when we start grappling together and in class

Funny thing about swings is that they look so easy but can hurt your low back if done incorrectly. I know. Great work Rick. You must have a 6 pack (abs that is).

Good work there Fischer. I like your circuits.

btn neck press 140x8x8
pulldowns 150x15x8

some curls and pushdowns.

nice work.

@ Steve and Kevin: I train this way (morning work) because I still like to participate in hard endeavors like Grappling/sparring @ a pretty high level with younger guys and if I didn’t do this type of “energy work” I would get destroyed. Alos it gives me a certain respect from my clients when we do circuits together. LOL.

So thank you guys, seriously.
