Training begets Serenity

Video is up over at ironaddicts.com in the lifting/video section. Bad angle on the camera made me look high - look in the mirror and see I am 2 inches up over parralel.

Benched today. got 365 then 315x6 felt solid.

Then did some power cleans and presses I clean from the floor then do 1 rep press then clean from floor 2 rep press I stop at 5 reps on press.

Good day

Thanks guys for the Kudos.

Started next 5/3/1 cycle.

Sqauts to a low 14’ box.

305x5,325x5,345x10(left a couple in the tank)

good morning 135x6 for 6 sets.hanging leg raise 20 reps for 2 sets.

bodyweight 233.5

Sorry, I should pay more attention, but was this particular session between 5/3/1 cycles? Just wondering how you fit cleans into the program.

Deload week.

During my deload week I play around with exercises I might incorpate into my next cycle of weights…

The power cleans from the floor /without the presses are a great Deadlift sub.

In 2 cycles I will do those instead of the deads to give me a break (lighter weight-more explosive).

Good idea. Thanks.

Hey guys life interferred agin with my health.

I just had a new Powerplant installed and I should be about ready to train heavy again (boy does my doc hate me on this)

I am thinking about going back to DC for 8 weeks then switching to high volume on the 2 week easy’s .

Trying to change some bodycomp around.

fischer

Good to see anoteher DC guy around. Well I do a modified DC but its the only thing I’ve ever really responded to well.

Damn fine squat numbers there.

Yeah I did DC 2 years ago and was @ my strongest due exactly to DC traing.
I trained in the system for 8 months my numbers went up crazy!!

Best lifts were 365x5 bench completely raw
rack pulls (top of knee just touching bar) 495x25
front military press from collarbone to full extension 225x7
widomaker sqauts 365x22 - then puked. lol

I will start doing this again. Now I train DC the old way with 5 second ecentrics on everything -cept calves. Best way if you ask me.

Fischer

Getting ready for DC and for some fun we did Vince Gironda’s 8x8 routine (fullbody)

That was fun - Getting used to the slower tempo and squeezing the reps and all that other Bbuilding stuff.

I am gonna go DC for 6-8 weeks then deload for 2 weeks.

I will post all progress here .

Rick

Just reading about the DC training. Sounds interesting. Do you think it could be done without a lifting partner? And how well did it work for you?

Goto intensemuscle.com for alot info on DC.

I gained the most strength/size from DC than any other system- just real taxing on mind/body/spirit .

Can be done without a partner - use dumdbell/machines mostly then.

Example: bweight in a 6 week blast went from 227-248 back in 2007 before all my injuries surfaced - I am now almost back to where I left off and yep going back to DC because it PLAIN OUT WORKS- better than any other system I have done. with or without “gear”

The whole thing works if done as said.

If need help let me know on setting up your program

Fischer

Lookin pretty solid over here Fischer!

I try to keep my ecentrics slow too though probably not that slow. Theres a point were going much slower murders my joints but I love the system. Dante is a freaking genius.

Flat bench w/u’s. 245x14 rp rest paused. 5 sec ecentrics -stay
hammer strength pulldown 3 plates 16rp–go up 10 pounds
hammer strength military press 2plates+25 14 rp-stay
skull crushers 95x22 rp-stay
seated row machine (life fitness) 160x15 rp-stay

all strecthes are done immediate after sets.

stay = same weight next time go for more reps
It sucks going back to the 5 sec ecentrics but do they work.

Fischer

preacher curl 75x26 rp go up 10 pounds
hammer curls - fubared set will use wrist curls for forearms
seated calf raise 115x14 reps
seated ham curls 150x25 go up 20 pounds
sqauts to 16’ bench w/u to 435x10 - did not have time for widomaker set - taught class right after

Good day in all getting the 435 I believe on this blast I will see atleast 475 for 10 reps on sqauts.

Fischer

Man, Fischer, you are one strong dude.

Great work.
