Top movie scenes

Hey,

I was wondering what movies the fight scene with chuck and the scene with kareem are in. I have always seen clips of them on Bruce Lee biographies but never the whole thing.

hhhm…When Kevin Spacey tells off his boss in American Beauty. The first fight sequence in Braveheart. Matrix kung fu.

Hi Al,
Glad you take an interest in the true daddy and pioneer of the action movie, Bruce Lee. Bruce fights with Chuck in Return of the Dragon (aka Way of the Dragon). Bruce fights with Kareem in that Godawful Game of Death (It’s terrible because the Movie Studio thought they could trick the round eyed white devils with a fake Bruce for ALL but the last 10 minutes of the incomprehensible movie)!

Kudos to a fellow Kubrick fan! The more I watch his films, the more I appreciate his genius. Brock- what do you think of the first 15 minutes of “2001” (the Dawn of Time scene?) Interesting commentary on the possible origin of intelligent life on Earth…and possibly my favourite piece of movie magic ever filmed. Most of Kubrick’s movies (Clockwork, 2001, Shining) were about 30 years ahead of their time. That guy had such balls…

I know that it isn’t from a movie, but it nonetheless deserves a place in the T-Mag Cinematic Hall of Fame: “Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry…” (And if you don’t recognize the line, you’re not a REAL T-Man!) Also, from The Gauntlet (as Clint’s taking some guy’s motorcycle): Guy: “Hey, that’s my bike, Jack!” Clint: “It’s my gun, Clyde.” Cracks me up just thinking about it. Also, from the latest Bond flick: Femme Fatale (who has gotten her hooks into Bond far further than most women, and is convinced that he loves her): “You wouldn’t shoot me. You couldn’t. You’d miss me too much.” Bond (shoots her in the head, then stands over her): “I never miss.” Ranks in my book as the all-time classic Bond line.

Anybody see the movie “Payback” with Mel Gibson. If you have think of the scene involving Mels toes and the hammer. If i remember right he gives up two toes on his right foot just to fake the bad guys out. Thats gotta take some stones. the S&M hooker in the movie is pretty wild too

Clock work orange is good. I forgot about that one. Bladerunner the directer’s cut when Rutger Hauer’s character says his last before he dies. Another one…a crappy movie but a good scene regardless. Barbwire when Pam is nekid and there spraying her with water. Me lika lot.

Ripley in Alien ‘Get away from her you BITCH!’

The scene in ‘Ran’ (the Akira Kurosawa film)
towards the end in which the general confronts
the woman who had schemed and ruined the
kingdom. She says she did every thing she
wanted, and he abruptly beheads her with a
sword. It’ll make you jump!

Or, any scene from ‘Yojimbo’. Toshirô Mifune’s
character in that movie is such a badass.
This is the movie that ‘A Fistful of Dollars’
and ‘Last Man Standing’ are shallow copies
of.

OK, if we want to talk Japanese films/anime,
there is an old one I dig - FIST OF THE NORTH STAR. Ultra-violent and chock full of good
lines. When “The Fist” beats the tar out of
the giant fat guy, the fat guy looks down
at him and laughs at him. The Fist turns
around and basically tells him to shut up
because “you’re already dead” and then the
fat guy erupts and explods all over the place.
I like that movie, damn it!!! Or when the
Fist of the South Star rips the arms off that
bandit thief trying to rob him…Brock

Gotta agree with slm on the “Ran” scene. That beheading caught me totally by surprise – I just wasn’t ready for it. That movie had some pretty passionate acting throughout.

The scene in Fight Club when Pitt gets the shit kicked outta him by the club owner/hood and is just laughing and spits blood at him. The Marathon Man where the main charcter (Dustin Hoffman??) is getting tortured using a dentist drill, a film well known in NZ called Once Were Warriors has a scene where Jake the Muss comes home with some mates and tells his missus (wife) to “cook the man some fuckin eggs” has become part of NZ lore. The scene in Chariots of Fire where they run through the sea. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells where the Black Guy gives all the reasons “…I’ll kill ya”.

You know I appreciate your work for t-mag but sometimes on the forum after reading your posts I think arhhhhhh Brock. But since you like “The Fist of the NorthStar” then your okay by me. And it wasn’t the Fist of the southern Star that rips the arms of the guy with the nunkucks it was Ray or Rye or whatever. Shin is the Fist of the SouthStar. Yes I’m a geek for knowing that. Check out the site below for some info. Stop wasting your time making supplements.

How about the scene in ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ with the speeding Nazi truck, and Indiana Jones gets trapped underneath it? Great scene there. - PJ

I have to agree with Brock. Nothing like a Clockwork Orange to viddy a little of the ultraviolence.

The Crow, when he is running accross the rooftops, when he goes to the pawn shop to get his wife’s ring back, and when he pays a visit to the crime bosses. And aikigreg, did you watch more than the first 15 minutes of Chasing Amy, or were you wacking it in the bathroom and missed the rest of the movie? If you don’t know what I’m talking about watch the movie again.

how bout in the shawshank redemption when andy finally gets outta the shit and into the river?
thats fuckin redemption

The final scene in Any Given Sunday when the coach is set to announce his retirement, only to steal Willy and take him as his starting QB to the new expansion team =) Not really inspirational or anything, just cool. There are plenty of sweet scenes in that movie.
