Was waiting for some andre300 love, he can be a bit up and down but when it’s good it’s absurdly good.

Homie, I understand that this list is based on opinion but your list is REALLY suspect. If you know ANYTHING about hip hop, you know that DR. Dre wrote NONE of his rhymes, Snoop, Eminem and Jay - Z wrote a lot of his shit. If you didn’t write your own rhymes you don’t belong on this list. Dr. Dre belongs in the PRODUCER category.
Second you know Erik B was just Rakim’s DJ right? He seriously never said a fucking WORD on 90% of all their albums together. I think he did come out with a solo album in the 90’s that was straight TRASH. Judging by your post intelligence I doubt you are old enough to remember that album.
Third. Ice T even though he is an early pioneer in rap he doesn’t belong anywhere on this list of Top Ten of ALL TIME.
Finally Method Man is a Second Tier member of Wu-Tang based on rhyme strength and consistency. Who would be first tier you may ask?
GZA
Inspectah Deck
Raekwon
Ghostface
ODB
So in summation your knowledge of rap and rap history is extremely limited and most of your posts aren’t worth the effort to read. Also there are some “WB” on this sight that have waaay more rap cred and knowledge of rap history then your dumb “Crooklyn” livin ass.
[/quote]
I meant to say Rakim. Of course I know Erik B was the DJ. And yes I know Dr. Dre is more of a producer, butI consider the Chronic to be one of the best rap records ever, period.
Even if he didn’t “write” his own rhymes, there would still his rapping style, delivery and music! Anyway, I had to check my Chronic CD to see who wrote what songs, and here is what it said:
Wu-tang Clan were all good. I would have/could have put them up as a crew, but Method Man and Chef Raekwan are my two favorite rappers. I would take any of their solo efforts over most of the bullshit rap that is made today. And you don’t recognize Ice-T in the top 10? The man ruled over two decades of g-rap.

I only know that my #1 and #2 are Eminem and Biggie, in that order.
But I’m suprised that nobody has mentioned Kool G Rap…

Best list that has been said so far. You honestly can’t put a top 10 hip hop list without Andre 3000 or Talib Kweli. But that’s the problem with these top 10 lists, it’s all based off of mainstream music people have picked up off the radio. Any one that can rhyme over a Dj Premier or J Dilla beat deserves mad respect such as Common, yet have the substance and flow as say Masta Ace. These lists are obviously subjective but when I started reading people putting the likes of T.I., the Game, or Ludacris in their top 10, you guys don’t know anything about hip hop.
Also to the guy that said there’s no good Aussie hiphop, ever heard of M-Phazes?

what if people find talib kwali and common and andre 3000 annoying as shit? i dont like my rap progressive and talking about solving the plagues of the black community and getting an education and overcoming opression or whatever the hell else they rap about (common and talib in particular). i like them talking about big screen tv’s, blunts, 40’s, and bitches. shit i almost put birdman and manny fresh on my list.
Something is wrong with this whole thread. Not one person mentioned one rapper out of the Def-Jux camp… And The rhymsayers barely got a mention… Does anyone here even follow rap?
