Obviously not because then it would be Top athletes in there sport. I really only wanted to know the most athletic dudes on the planet, merely to youtube them for inspiration.
Mbdix, brilliant list dude![/quote]
no not true. the title of the thread doesnt say who the most athletic dudes on the planet are. Tiger woods is in no way one of the top to most athletic people on the planet but as far as winning and money and fame go he is without a doubt the number 1 athlete in the world.
Theres a difference charged. sorry bud… and you know Mbdix had an a terrible list cause it started with Romo and Vince Young. Neither of them are even in the top 25… especially Romo
I was born in Argentina and I can say that Messi is NOT a good athlete. He has a hunch back, rounded shoulders, and forward head posture. He needs a serious look at Neanderthal No More series. He also lacks over all strength. This is why he can only play good in the Spanish league which is way lighter than the English or Italian league. He also lacks heart, in big moments he does not show up. He has a certain talent but he does not come to mind when I think of great athletes.

Didn’t he have pretty serious hormone problems as a child (cause of the neanderthal look) which led him to play in the Spanish league since only those team could afford to pay him and pay for his treatment?
^^I was waiting for that. He is definitely one of the greatest college football players ever. Definitely top 5 but we’ll have to see how he does in the pro’s… He had a nice run and a couple nice balls in that pre season game

College football is as big if not bigger than most other pro sports, so thats whay I thought I would throw him in, plus I’m a Gators & Broncos Fan, when they drafted Tebow I nearly jizzed in my pants. My first football jersey buy is going to be a Tebow Denver Jersey. LOL

Man ffs, must be a language barrier, in England people would understand that athlete = athletic, hence the name…

Very good point, I would have never brought up Tebow but he certainly deserves recognition. I am a life long Bama fan so as much as I hate to say it, Tebow is a god damn athlete. Even in the preseason game, his rushing touchdown was not different than how he would have scored in college. Roll out and rumble down to the endzone. Two defenders between him and the goal line? Big deal. He is a freak.
And to Charged, Tiger Woods may not be called athletic but I am sure he was won “Athlete of the Year”

athlete = a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise (websters dictionary)
different sports require different degrees of athleticism. Football and basketball require a high degree while golf does not. So the most athletic person doesnt always make the top athlete. Hence Tiger Woods. First billionaire athlete, Named athlete of the year SEVERAL times and was even named Athlete of the Decade by the Associated Press.

he’s got the number one selling jersey in the NFL… you can help keep him number 1… but I have a question:
How are you from New York, Like the Denver Broncos as your favorite NFL team and the Florida Gators as your favorite College team? Whats next you like the Anaheim Angles in baseball? lol

No No I’m at least a little bit of a Mets fan. To be honest, I don’t know why I started liking the gators. It was when I was real young. I think I just liked the gator, plus we vacationed in florida quite a bit when I was growing up. Denver I started liking when I was young also. The first football game I can remember watching was Denver VS Washington. A guy named elway made that game exciting and really fun to watch. I wanted to watch him play more, and thus, my favorite team was born.
This discussion could be simplified if you rated a sport or its respective athletes with independent values for categories like skill, athleticism and conditioning (sort of like Madden). Using a scale of 1-10, golf would be high skill (8), low athleticism (1) and low conditioning (1) for a total score of 8. Boxing/MMA would be moderate to high skill (5-7), moderate to high athleticism (5-7) and high conditioning (9) for a total of 19-23. Tiger would get individual rankings higher than his golfing peers, but overall still pale in comparison to say pacman, GSP.
And you should continue to forget about him until he proves he’s an elite football player. Dominating in college is one thing, even if it’s the SEC. But the NFL is the cream of the crop athletically, the absolute elite of the elite. He was a great college football player, but if we’re talking about the greatest athletes in sports today, he has to dominate his sport at the highest level that sport is played to even garner consideration for the list.
I agree Tebow has to prove himself in the NFL to be called a great football player. But, IMO he can be considered a top athlete. Impressive combine #s if I remember correctly.

yeah his numbers were impressive. He is definitely a great athlete but we’ll see how he does as a NFL Quarterback

Ok I guess that makes sense… and since you’re a fan of The Lake Show I can support your decision.
