Tool Favourites (The Band)

I love them all but if I had to choose a few:

Eulogy
Right in Two
Bottom
forrtysix & 2

It’s weird. I love anything up until Salival. Lateralus and 10,000 days are decent, but just don’t click for me. I can’t pinpoint what exactly is different about them. Might be the atmosphere. Lateralus and 10,000 days can be a bit ‘preachy’.

Same thing with System of a Down. Their first album was great, but it seems everything after that has been a downward spiral towards pop-rock and ‘be nice to everyone’ preachiness.

I’m going to have to say Opiate was the most intense and fierce album they’ve done. It was just so f’n raw. Their later albums show a lot of growth and progression but I really think they lost the aggression from the first album. In any case, my top 5 would be still be spread out a little:

Jerk-off
Forty Six & 2
Cold and Ugly
Eulogy
Swamp Song

“You’re a dumbass belligerent fucker!”
