Too Much Sugar in Xtend?

Hi guys

Have been lurking around reading the forums for a while and have been really inspired by everyone,so decided to jump on the wagon…Some help with the following would be greatly appreciated:

I am about 13 weeks out from my 2nd comp, and have always used the Nutrabolics Growth Factor for Amino’s to sip during training. I have decided to change to Scivation Xtend after reading so much about it. I received it yesterday and the Grape flavour is awesome. Just wondering if anyone thinks that there might be too much sugar in it for during comp prep???
It was really sweet compared to what I am used to and I was just a bit worried about the sugar content.
Also, I take BSN NO Explode just before my work out, which I find really helps, but do I still need a creatine supp. as well??

Any info on this would really help
Thanks
Timmy

From reading the label, I don’t see where there’s any sugar in it. It does include citrulline malleate which is a very interesting and beneficial compound, I’m somewhat surprised Biotest hasn’t produced anything with the compound in it.

If you’re taking NO Xplode, I would still take 5 grams of creatine post workout.

If you’re in need of BCAA’s the store is a click away in green at the top nav. The Biotest BCAA tabs are great. I also find that if I get enough sleep, I don’t need a stimulant, and Power Drive is a great pre-workout supplement.

Cant help you on the sugar content, but the watermelon flavor is fantastic. I use it during & after my workouts.

Best of luck to you at your upcoming competition and welcome to T-Nation!!!

Welcome to T-Nation. Don’t forget to check out our sister site “Muscle with Attitude”. Click the MWA link at the top of the page. It’s devoted to fitness and figure competitors and the ladies over there are the best.

It looks like Xtend is a BCAA product. It has no sugar. I think you’re just tasting the sucralose artificial sweetener they put in.

Just a FYI on the Nitric Oxide crap:

Many people like it since they respond to the “pump” they feel but you can get the same effect with just sugar and caffeine.

The info really helped! Always a bit skeptical when things taste that good

Will definately start the creatine PWO as well. I currently am taking BCAA’s too.

Cheers
