Tony Snow Offered McClellan's Job

Faux news in full effect boy!

Shameless bump!

What?

Where are all the Fox News Channel appologists now?

If Clenis tapped the anchor at the Clinton News Network (CNN) he would have been eaten alive.

I predict that Tony Snow will not take this job but the fact they are even considering him is very telling.

Who would want McClellan’s job?

Hooked on phonics worked for me!

He wasn’t “offered” the job:

One of the people the White House has approached as a possible replacement for McClellan is FOX News Radio host Tony Snow. The White House discussed the possibility with Snow as recently as this week.

Snow, who hosts “The Tony Snow Show,” once served as a speechwriter for President George H.W. Bush.

Other people have also been approached about the position, including former Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clark and Dan Senor, the former Coalition Provisional Authority spokesman in Iraq, who served the U.S. civil administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer.

Faux News Rules!

Love,
Doogie

Literacy rules.

Yo D!

Who do you think will end up replacing McClellan?

I vote for Tony Snow.

Fox News is for idiots. They’re even worse than Dan Rather in his prime.

If they work at Faux, the White House knows they are already good at manipulating the facts to represent whatever truth they desire… sounds like a perfect candidate.

I hope Snow does take the job. He was a speechwriter for Bush I.

Do you or vroom have any criticisms of Tim Russert (chief of staff to Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan),Chris Matthews (speechwriter for Carter, aide to Tip O’Neil, on the staffs of Senators Frank Moss and Edmund Muskie),Diane Sawyer (worked for Nixon and Ford),Bill Moyers (worked in both the Kennedy and Johnson administrations),George Stephanopoulos (Clinton’s press secretary) being on the air?

Doogie,

I have more of a problem with the press than whoever might be the press secretary.

It doesn’t matter who the press secretary is, they are presenting whatever spin the government wants to impart on the issues of the day.

If the press simply reports this spin, as if it means anything on it’s own, then it does the populace a disservice.

It would be nice though, if any press secretary had enough moxy to refuse to answer questions, instead of spreading blatant lies and cover ups on behalf of the administration.

How refreshing would that be?

That would just boil down to some guy standing there doing the press’s job for them day after day. What fun would that be? Make the bastards work for it.

Not sure who you’re referring to, but absolutely. Bill Moyers, in particular, is a world-class asshole. Despite the caring, fatherly image he projects on PBS, he’s the guy who made the infamous daisy/mushroom cloud ad that smeared Goldwater and helped Johnson to his landslide in 1964. A landmark as far as sleazy attack ads go.

I agree Moyers is an asshole, but Tony Schwartz made the Daisy ad.

You’re right, I always thought that it was his baby, he just approved Schwartz’s work and gave it the go ahead. Still an asshole, as you said, especially given his PBS reinvention.

Tony Snow’s job title will change but his job description will remain the same.

Tony Snow on Bush:

George Bush has become something of an embarrassment. 11/11/05

No president has looked this impotent this long when it comes to defending presidential powers and prerogatives. 9/30/05

George W. Bush, meanwhile, talks of a pillowy America, full of niceness and goodwill. Bush has inherited his mother’s attractive feistiness, but he also got his father’s syntax. At one point last week, he stunned a friendly audience by barking out absurd and inappropriate words, like a soul tortured with Tourette’s. 8/25/00

Uh, yah…Tony Snow will make a great press sec.

Guess, like most things, Bush didn’t do any research on Snow before hiring him.

ROTFLMFAO!

Hey Doogie!

Hey marmaprick!!!

So which is it? Is FOX a Republican mouthpiece or not?

I thought Tony Snow was a rather large figure on that network. If I understand the premise correctly: Murdoch tells everyone to parrot the Administration. Therefore, if Snow isn’t going along with his boss’ supposed edict, what does that say?

Help me marma-prick, I must know. If Fox isn’t 100% supportive of the administration, I cannot watch it!!!

Please help me stay current on the latest liberal scheme. I cannot fall behind in my mastery of liberal mud-slinging.

In all seriousness, I implore you and other liberals to be consistent. I like the other side to have a baseline of competence. It’s no fun kicking around clowns.

JeffR

P.S. Spare me the “I’m an independent crap.” You aren’t. You are a liberal democrat.

FYI - None of Snow’s comments were piped through Faux.

Aren’t you tired of playing the AWM caricature yet?

The first article you posted STILL doesn’t say he was offered the job.

I never denied he was in the running, I just pointed out your reading problem.
