Thanks bud, its good to be back.
I’ve found dips to be a blast, or utter hell on my shoulders. Strangely, its very random on which one it is. That day they went well though.

Many thanks my friend. You’re nothing to sneeze at either in this iron game.

At this point I am treading water when it comes to bodyweight manipulation. Though I may try to work my way down into the low 230s or 220s. I am not very concerned with it at this point though.
Watching your close grip vid I realized that your cg is my regular grip. Then I also realized you’re twice as wide as I am, so it makes sense. Glad you’re back bud.

Lol. Yeah, my close grip really isn’t all that “close” I suppose. I can bring my grip in quite a bit for overhead pressing variants though. What I call my “regular” grip is a good thumb length outside of the smooth ring on a regular olympic bar. I actually feel like I could take my grip out wider, but run the risk of smashing my hands against the racks. Thanks for the kind words my friend.
You are on the verge of needing to remove the word fat from the title of the log. You’re becoming a plain bastard I guess.

yeah my grips almost the exact same as you for close grip, I changed it a while ago and widened it up, best thing i ever did
9/27/11 Squat day. This was supposed to happen this past Sunday. However, one of my co-workers needed help moving because her x-fiance turned into a complete fucktard. This turned into a 15 hour day of hauling stuff from Bryan to Houston. I’m not bitching, as I was happy to help, but training took a backseat. I then for no apparent reason felt like 3 day old deep fried asshole on Monday. It took half a bottle of Day-quil to get through work. Lifting did not happen then either. So, felling a little less like shit, I lifted today.
VIDOE:
Warmups, stretching, the usual. Plus some extra band work, as a few dudes decided that it would be cool to take the only bumper plates in the gym outside and do some kind of clean/kettle bell circuit thingy. My first few sets made a good deal more noise than normal.
Started with powercleans, and felt like shooting for a PR.
135X5
201X3
251X2
311X1 PR. I’ve never cleaned more than 300 from the floor before. Kickass.
Squats:
135X8
225X5
315X5
405X3 These felt like complete shit. For whatever reason strength just was not there tonight. Took it back down from here.
315X5 with a long pause in the hole.
My squat needs to figure itself the fuck out. Eh, stuff to work on.
RDL: I felt like pushing for a PR here due to lackluster squatting.
135X5
225X5
315X5
405X5
525X3 Weight PR. These felt ok.
Leg presses with EFS black bands:
up to 7 plates per side plus the bands for 2X8. 4 total sets of 8.
Cable Ab pull downs:
3X15.
Not a bad few days. Training again on Thurs. Bench night.

HAHAHA! Thanks very much for the kind words. I am very far from lean however. I simply think of myself as a smaller fat bastard than I used to be. Bodyweight was at 241 even this morning. In the coming weeks I am going to slowly implement semi fasted morning cardio back in. I say semi fasted as I usually take some BCAA caps and fish oil caps before I leave the house and then drink a MAG-10 mixture during the running/walking/sled pulling or whatever.

Cool to hear man. For some reason, my “regular”(wide grip bench) feels a good deal better on my shoulders than close grip benching. Probably has something to do with a shorter range of motion and less shoulder rotation(I think). Either way, figuring out grip placement is a near constant challenge for moste movements, for me at least.
Good fucking shit, fucking 300+ clean and 500+ RDLs. monster.
Dude, that power clean was fantastic.
I thought you were gonna lose it for second but then you just bruted through it.
Just awesome man ![]()
that was a monster clean my man!!! Have you been dropping some BF? You’re lookin leaner than before and stronger than ever. Hell yeah!
9/29/11 Bench day. Felt like going heavy on the inclines.
VIDEO:
Warmups, stretching, and shit.
Flat Bench:
bar X12
135X8
225X5
315X3 for 3 sets. Everything felt tight and fast, exactly the way it should.
Incline Bench:
barX10
135X5
225X5
275X3
315X1
350X1

275X13 Yaaay for da pumpzzzz.
Dips:
BDW X10
+90LBs X5 for 3 sets
Rope tri push downs:
someXsome for 3 sets.

Thank you dude. Yeah, for a second I thought I would loose it too. Hips went a bit too far back once I started to rise out of the catch. Shoulders ans elbows moved out of position a little bit as a result, but I was able to correct it.

Thanks Greg. Leaner maybe, though stronger than ever is doubtfull. Really depends on the movement. I have been able to maintain most of my strength on the few lifts that have decreased though.
Some damn solid pressing brother
