I used to watch Platz train in the early 80’s at world gym. Great intenstiy. For his arms, he would train to complete faliute. He would do drop sets, 1/2 curls, 1/4 curls using his whole body to cheat, even at a very low dumbell weight. This sort of extreme training to failiure cost Platz as he later tore his bicep.
As a young person interested in training, I was in awe of watching Tom train. I remember him as a very nice and approchable guy. Would ask him question when he was done and he was ALWAYS very polite. A true gentleman.
