Yes for Thib’s Livespills.
No for discussion livespills.
Yes for Thib’s Livespills.
No for discussion livespills.
I favor the forum format as well. I used to enjoy reading the discussions after the articles, but now I hardly ever do.
not a fan…
for reasons many others have already explained.
so that is another vote in the NO column.

Livespill is too hard to follow. I don’t want to have to read through several posts to try and figure out who an author is responding to.
This ^ is why I generally ignore the Livespill stuff.
This is true. Even if they decide to keep the livespill for Training lab and shorter posts, and go back to the forum for articles, It needs to be threaded. It is by far a better format, to not use it is lazy. It would eliminate the need for @username and make it much easier to follow.
VT and I started threads at similar times about the live spill. His thread has gotten more traction. The two concerns about the current livespill format that have been addressed are “hard to follow” and “less discussion / more shitty posts”. I think both of these could be solved with a system that threads comments and allows upvoting/downvoting. Reddit comments are easy to follow and good posts (as judged by the community) get rewarded. Example: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/ecyca/iama_natural_bodybuilder_ama/
I really like the livespills for things such as the training lab, especially the ones with that guy (I suck at remembering names) that went to the olympia
I do not really like it for articles
Have no clue about it.
The term “LiveSpill” sounds like someone was captured vomiting on video.

I’m 22 and am enamored by its complexities as wel.

For me it sounds something like bio hazard waste was spilled somewhere.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to jump in here for a sec and let you know we are reading these and you’re not being ignored.
The currently version of LiveSpill is barely version 1. You can bet there will be a lot of changes and enhancements to the application as it evolves. And we’ll take your concerns and recommendations to heart as we work on it.
One thing we’d like to make sure you understand about the article comments, however, is that we are in no way prohibiting members from starting their own discussion threads here in the forums, should you guys choose to. The forum is here for just this very reason.
I still dont see the point of the livespill. Even with improved features etc., what is the supposed advantage of the livespill as opposed to a forum? Is it supposed to be about ease of posting? If so, its just as quick/easy to post something using the “quick reply” option within a thread.
I am not a fan of livespill…
I stopped reading article discussions because of livespill. As others have said, it’s terribly difficult to follow a conversation.
I don’t even understand what livespill is. Can someone explain to me why this is supposed to better? Are there some features I don’t know about?
it’s basically what Vbulletins have been for years, real live time posts w/o moderation (or so it seems). Why they don’t just use that is beyond me

In fact, I’ll go so far as to reveal I am even less inclined to read the article itself. Reason? I often used to read the entire article JUST so I was fully informed when I went into the article discussion. Now that I tend to skip the discussion it’s a little easier to walk away from the article as well.
Truth. The authors comments following an article oftentimes could make some important points or comments about the use or when not to use the information in the article, and usually made for some learning points that were just as good when the right questions were asked.
soooo … any chance we can go back to article discussion or is it still just up to a member starting a thread if they have an interest in doing so, and then hopefully other members with similar interests will find that thread in the correct forum so as there not to be multiple threads on the same article?
Also, what are the chances of the authors being aware of member made threads regarding their articles?
Why does it have to be one or the other?
Do the authors actually prefer LiveSpill?
I started a thread about this mostly just asking for the addition of the “Discuss” link at the end of the article.
Maybe it could even be a button for a member to create a thread of they have an interest if not a T-Nation sponsored “Discuss” thread.
