I like some country, but I’ll stick to the Death Metal for all my headbanging and growling sing-a-longs needs.

I’ve found some decent radio stations. They call themselves “Classic Rock” but don’t play the softer stuff in that genre. And they play stuff from Iron Maiden, old Metallica, and a few other older metal bands.
But as for the current hits stations, I just don’t connect whit them.

Thanks dude.
I thought As I Lay Dying was top 40? Not to flame, but I have little cousins listening to that stuff on MTV2…what gives?
Yeah and congrats to them for actually getting some mainstream exposure. The issue here was radio. Mainstream radio would probably in all likelihood NEVER play As I Lay Dying on the same station as “radio friendly” bands like The White Stripes and The Foo Fighters. TV is another issue, for another day.
That goes for most metal I listen to. I’d be damn surprised if there’s a single radio station out there that will play any Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Lamb of God, and on and on. Too many fat, kankle sporting soccer moms would whine about “that damn devil music” if it were.
Well, whenever I listen to Harder/Faster or w/e the hell WAAF, the “hard rock” station here in the Boston area, I hear nothing than the metalcore stuff i.e. AILD, LoG, and Demon Burger, however, it’d be cool to listen to some Behemoth, alas BM Behemoth on the radio.[/quote]
AAF kicks ass. They were playin some Lamb of God “omerta” when I was coming home from work yesterday. Im mostly a cd guy though.

Country radio anymore has the same problem as top 40 radio. The same 5 artists are played to death. Of course I listen to country radio because I’m too cheap to pay for satellite.
My radio broke in my car about 5 years ago…haven’t missed it much…
Not any metal on this station…but no top 40 either…I listen to it at work…
if you’re looking for something to listen to online, not death metal, but they’re one of the last independent stations.
you can go through their music log at any given time for the last month or so.

Do they play popular Swedish metal bands on regular radio over there? Bands like In Flames, Amon Amarth, At the Gates, Arch Enemy, etc? I’ve always wanted to know that. If hardcore/death/extreme metal is played on regular radio in Europe.
I don’t even remember the last time I tuned into a radio station.
CD’s are it for me. I can listen to whatever I want to. There are a few stations I listen to, but they play alot of current stuff. That way I keep up with it, but if I have something that I need to hear, I can plug it in.

Yes. They play all that, but then they also play a lot of ABBA and that other gay Swedish band. And it sucks because you can hear the DJs munching on swedish meatballs in the background like non-stop.
On the plus side though all the girls are blonde, large-breasted and extremely loose. They really, really like to have sex while listening to ABBA and that other gay Swedish band. I don’t know how many times I’ve been trying to relax and listen to some In Flames, Amon Amarth, etc. only to have Dancing Queen or Knowing Me, Knowing You come blaring out of the radio speaker…I’ll start to curse, but then sure enough a large-breasted blonde appears at me office door and throws herself on me.
It’s tough here in Sweden, but we get by.
