What would you put in a time capsule, And not a time capsule that is gonna be opened in a hundred years im talking about for the next intelligent life on this earth to find. Like in a million years from now after we are long gone and some other intelligent life form has come about.
So lets say this time capsule is like the size of a VW bug and built out of the strongest materials we have in hopes of it lasting a long time. Also where do you think would be the best place to put it. Take into consideration plate drift, we dont want this to end up in the arctic with a two miles of ice over it never to be found.
Ok so as far as stuff goes.
1.iPOD with almost every genre of music on it.
2.Pictures of people, of the earth, of Jaime Eason
3.The old testament and the book of Moses and Genesis.
4.Maybe all kinds of blueprints for all the things we have made like rockets and fighter jets and small bock chevys.
5.Movies but which ones.If we were to put the dark knight in there they might think there really were people like that.
6.The recipe for Newcastle Brown ale
7.Guns

I don’t know. Intelligent life may not find anything about us interesting at all.
Why do people always imagine aliens would be much more advanced. What would people think if we came upon a new world and they were as intelligent as monkeys or worms.
I would take scans of all of our histories and documents that are degrading and save them in a capsule. A detailed cultural perspective of our world
Who said anything about aliens. And the idea that another life form or civilization wouldnt find us interesting at all is ridiculous. There are scientists who study poop.
How bout DNA. DNA is small and I bet you could take DNA from every living creature on earth and fit it in there.

Yes
Yes and Important historical figures
Yes
Maybe not a good idea, if we killed off our society why introduce this to another possibly peaceful society.

Because it is extremely illogical to think otherwise? Pretty much the only way an alien species can exist AND visit us without being of a higher level of advancement is if they are EXTREMELY long living and adaptable life forms, which would be the requirement to transverse space and survive on alien(to them) planets.
‘Much more’ advanced is subjective but we require MASS resources to make any manned trip to the moon, which compared to even just interplanetary travel is an extremely short distance. So just the fact that a manned craft of any kind would come here puts them well above our level of resource usage, which is a hallmark of technological advancement.

Religion would be a bad one too, because if we did kill off our society that would have something to do with it. IMO
Maybe, but IMO we have moved past this. Most of the super powers are not based on religion. OIL and MONEY are what will kill man.
I don’t think we have, tell it to all the fanatics out there.
Include the bible et al, they would need to learn about our “modern day” mytholigies too.
The reality is - think about it for a second; we WILL eventually all die off as a race and years down the line either another species will spawn or visit the planet if it’s not completely wrecked.
And there is a good chance they will research us just like we’ve done to past civilizations and dinosaurs - because it’s in our nature to learn new things, to adapt and evolve.
Do iPod batteries last a million years? Seems like there would be some degredation over that period of time.
I would put more tactile stuff in the capsule. Pictures, musical instruments, samples of clothing, art, tools, preserved (stuffed) mammals, insects, and fish.
And some porn.
And some blood samples from Keith Richards, Jack Lalane, Joan Rivers, and Betty White.

A documented history of our advances in medicine, and a twinkie to see how long they REALLY last.
Reality check…if they are more advanced, our “advances in medicine” would come across like we think about leeches and covering your mouth when you yawn so demons don’t get in.
