I like the vids of dudes spraying brake cleaner into the arc while the other guy is welding.
Only “social media” I have ever had an account on was LinkedIn (actually got my previous job through there). As far as Tik Tok, I have seen videos on YouTube that just make fun of the idiots on there, and it has to be the dumbest group of human beings outside Congress. No talent, just being complete morons in short clips.
I can agree with others for the same valid reasons. But a personal reason I don’t like TikTok is just due to how they have algorithm set up. The developers definitely got me with that. Scrolled for 3 hours one morning, and realized I was supposed to leave for morning gym while the sun was still down. Looked up and it was like 9am. Told myself, “Don’t ever do that again”. Had to delete the app because it was just an unnecessary distraction.
TikTok is braindead. Cheap, stupid, lowest-common-denominator “entertainment”. Some of the stuff there is frighteningly unfunny, and many of those trends that appear every single month aren’t just fucking idiotic, but toxic and dangerous. And they seem to be getting worse and worse.
They say that if you want your brand to become known nowadays, you gotta go on TikTok; it’s mandatory. I’d rather be strapped to a rocket and sent off to Pluto.
I get that Tik Tok may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s definitely true that there are some trends and content on the platform that can be pretty cringe-worthy. However, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it’s ““braindead”” or completely devoid of any entertainment value. TikTok has become a huge platform for content creators to showcase their talents and gain exposure to their brands. While using TikTok to promote your brand may not be mandatory, it can certainly be a powerful tool for reaching a wider audience.
And also, if you’re looking for a provider of social media marketing (SMM) services, it’s important to do your research and choose a reputable provider that offers quality services like NLOsmm.com. Good luck!
It’s an app designed by the CCP to expressly weaken Americans.
Source: I work for a DoD contractor and we were told all the details of this app.
It wasn’t designed by the CCP. The original purpose was to be a social media app to share short form video content
The CCP got involved after the app went viral and forced the company to make different algorithms for the English and Chinese versions
Yeah, not the story I have on hood authority from intelligence sources…
According to my (quite limited) knowledge, @cyclonengineer is completely correct. I understand the threat of TikTok as a Chinese hybrid weapon is discussed on government/security agency levels in the EU, for example.
Do you think the CCP is comprised only of Chinese govt officials?
Do you think the CCP allows individuals to become wealthy (a term meaning ‘beyond well-off’) without bending the knee? Or perhaps not vocally opposing the CCP?
Can confirm what @cyclonengineer has said through different sources.
You made an account on a fitness forum just to come to PWI, reviving a 2-month dead thread to say this…?
The algorithm is completely different on the Chinese vs English versions of the app. It also tracks everything a user does even across other apps.
All that data gets fed to Chinese intelligence analysts to try and find/exploit weaknesses.
@anna_5588 i know it’s your home country and you have no control over what the government there does. TikTok and the rest of the government there (and their associated actions) are not a reflection on any one Chinese person.
My company fights off >50,000 cyber attacks daily mostly from international origins that try to break through our firewall. I am sure the number for @anon6371718 company is even greater in number.
@cyclonengineer @anon6371718 I don’t deny that the CCP is using it for nefarious purposes. I’m saying that the guys who designed bytedance and created the app did not do it as a psyops tool. It was used. My family knows the founder
I can believe that it was co-opted for nefarious purposes.
Remember when Huawei telecommunication equipment was being installed all along the US’ midwest military bases? you know, the ones that hold our nuclear arsenal?
I’ve spent a total of around three months in China across multiple business trips, don’t speak the language(s) and therefore I’m a complete neophyte.
But I think I did notice one aspect of the power dynamic between the CCP and the business leaders in two separate occasions and I’m not sure if I’m reading too much into it or if there’s some truth to it so I’d appreciate your opinion.
In order not to give away anything about the person(s) or places in China, I’ll try to illustrate this with an US based analogy - let’s say the mayor of Scranton PA is having some distinctly local non-event, opening of a new waste management plant or whatnot. And he invites Jeff Bezos. And Bezos unironically shows up and you get a feeling he was somehow compelled to show up at this distinctly provincial thing without much relevance to his actual business endeavors and had to demonstrate (somewhat discreet) deference to the mayor, who’s at best a mid-tier politician in the Party.
Now, as I’ve said, I’ve seen this played out two times and my interpretation of this is that there’s a constant physical reminder to even extremely rich and successful business people that the Party always takes precedence over wealth, even if it’s power is wielded by someone relatively insignificant inside the political structure.
Am I completely wrong or there’s some element of truth to it? I would really appreciate your take on this.
nope, definitely not wrong. It’s not as extreme as “jeff bezos going to scranton for waste management”, but dad (he’s the PR and marketing guy) definitely has to deal with greedy bureaucrats more than he’d like. So do his (arguably more successful) friends in his network
这都是从特朗普的臭嘴喷出的谎言!只有你们这些笨的老外会相信!
不爱国,整天去管别人的事!

为国安是一主梁!
Alright, seriously, I’ve not been following these things.
You guys REALLY NEED to go learn how to TELL THE GPT3 fucker how to do shit you want lol. I can’t read React code other than I know there are objects and shit so I can kinda guess what they do. CSS? It’s harder than python for me. I got the AI to code an entire page form for me lol.
Here’s a hint. You cannot ASK it questions. You need to TELL it to do stuff. Google for how to give it hints.
The bloody MS chinese hanyu pinyin (it’s like Japanese with english characters) keyboard is dumber.
The Chinese words I wrote are kinda intermmediate level lol. The last 2 lines are from a hilarious song called 大哥是大傻 which was a song by the late Shing Fu On, one of my favorite comedic actors who got laughs mainly because he always played a gangster and he looked exactly like one. However, he was in John Woo’s The Killer actually playing a gang leader and he rocked lol.
Just go try getting the AI to translate it for you.
