In case this needs to be stated, you don’t have to be married to have some manical bitch charging at you, screaming at you or making YOU look like the so called aggressor. I agree he was probably trying to get away from her

I doubt we will be hearing about how horrible she is and her anger management issues due to too much testosterone.
I think it sucks that a man’s best option in that situation is to run screaming like a little girl just to avoid jail time.
She cut his face. That sucks.
I agree with you Prof X. You can’t do nothing but walk away or run away from a physical confrontation with a woman. That sucks just as much as getting scratched in the face by a woman. Damn.
At least it was his face, and not his pickle. These situations, can get much worse.
Yeah, but where-as guys like Warren Moon get forever labeled as “wife beaters” no such thing ever happens in reverse no matter how much worse they can get. I have heard women laugh and clap for Lorena Bobbitt.
I personally think this double standard needs its balls clipped before some guy loses his life due to his wife going crazy like this.
This isn’t old news.

No, of course you don’t…but being married to one complicates things 100%

RIP phil hartman who wasn’t even having an affair. his wife was jealous of his success. his poor kids were hiding in the closet while he was dead in the room. they’re not going crazy when they act like this. they are crazy. sometimes people shrug off abusive behavior until something awful happens. no you cannot attack someone because they don’t do what you say. male or female. the double standard may be but if a person doesn’t look for signs because physical appearance is blinding them, oh well.

I can agree with that, but because society basically laughs at incidences like that, no one seems to take it seriously until it is too late. I know guys who seem to think it is ok for their women to act like that…as if they get a free pass to act like a lunatic because of a menstrual cycle. Women are simply not held to the same social restraints it seems as men today are more and more.
We live in a society that will brand you as being crazy if you so much as raise your voice in public…yet your wife can slam a frying pan into your head and the guy won’t even call the police 90% of the time due to fear of being laughed at.

Amen, brother. AMEN.
Its the same reason why the one time I got slightly aggravated at work, everyone thought I was crazy and people were whispering around the office about whats gotten into me. ALL THE WHILE, my female boss flys straight off the handle, sobbing openly in the office because her bi-polar is acting up again and she forgot to take her meds. Thats commonplace. My boss storms out of the office at 2 pm, without saying anything to anybody, in fucking tears and hysterics, over NOTHING, and its ACCEPTED. Nobody says anything. I get pissed, and everyone is asking me if something is deeply wrong.
It’s bullshit.

Most murders committed by females are of intimate partners, whereas men more often kill one another. That women offend against men is not a secret to people working in law enforcement, psychology, medicine, social work, etc. Women are far more likely to engage with a weapon (throwing household items, for example). In many cases domestic violence runs both ways, with female throwing something, hitting, or pushing and then male punching or pushing to greater effect (more damage).
However, it is a GOOD thing that men are expected to control themselves now and awareness of male on female domestic violence is high. Women are still hospitalized and killed by partners in far, far greater numbers than men.

How can you make that claim AT ALL when it is known that most men avoid seeking treatment or help when in these same situations? While a woman may call for an ambulance because her spouse cuts her arm, do you think a men is just as likely to do the same?
Not unless they are about to die.
I for one do not believe that women are victims at anywhere near the rate that some would have us believe. I am also sure there are more men out there getting their asses beat at home than we may ever know about.
It is NOT ok that a woman could hit her husband first, he responds by pushing her, she calls the police and HE gets taken to jail for assault. It is not “control” for a man to run out of the house in that situation. It is simply fear of being thrown in jail or having half of his paycheck stolen for a divorce.

From your posts, I’m pretty sure none of you guys in this little sub-thread have ever been attacked by a woman. Let me tell you, they are soooo easy to handle. It’s very easy to manage the situation so no one gets hurt, no one needs to run and the police will sure as hell never get involved.
I’ve never been in a physical confrontation with a female, but even if they are extremely easy to ‘handle,’ if you leave a bruise or a scratch while restraining them, that’s evidence that you hurt them.
If I ever were involved in something like this, I would most definitely call the cops and explain the situation immediately after it happened, rather than her going to the station the next day when a bruise appears to say “my husband hit me.”
I mean, you may be able to get off the hook if you have a bruise from a frying pan or a wound from a kitchen knife, as that surely helps your case to prove that you acted in self defense, but it shouldn’t need to be that way in the first place.
Where did my post go? X, I’m not sure what claim of mine you’re disputing, since my point was largely that I agree with you. YES, women injure and kill men and NO, this is not a secret. Cops, doctors, mental health people are fully aware.
However, women are not necessarily more likely to call the cops or an ambulance over scratches or being shoved than men are. Why? Because most victims stay in relationships with their batterers and they don’t want the resultant fines and lost wages any more than the offenders do. Also, in cases where the initial aggressor is in question (which is a great many of them) mandatory arrest policies often require that both parties be arrested.
Yes, men hesitate to come forward, but the organized movement against domestic violence is relatively young. I’m thinking the first legislation was passed in the 70s. But there is increasingly emphasis on reducing the gender bias in order to include and protect men. For example, you don’t hear the term “wife battering” much anymore. Now it’s called spousal abuse or intimate partner violence.
I’m not sure what you think I’m saying when I say it’s good that men are more controlled than they formerly were. It’s not a zero sum game. My hope is that women will ultimately be forced to exercise control as well.

Statement from Tiger Woods this Sunday afternoon. He claims that the accident was entirely his fault and that the malicious rumors that are circulating are entirely false, i.e. domestic fight, affair, etc.
The Independent’s take:
However, he and his wife have refused to meet with police and have said that they wish the events surrounding the accident to remain private. He has retained a lawyer to deal with enquiries from police - he has provided his license, registration and insurance as required by Florida law.
Well, a determined effort to stem the tide of speculation (cover-up?). Maybe I should have put a question mark after the thread title.
Nah.

Maybe people don’t want the whole fucking world in their business.
First off: Prof, Warren Moon is an asshole and a woman beater.
Now on to the story. The mistress is way hotter than the wife. A guy at my gym was saying that he thinks this is gonna turn into the biggest sports story in 50 years when all the info comes out. Looks pretty shady from here. Also, did anyone else find it odd that the guy at the end of the first page has incriminating evidence on his wife in case she tries to get the kids if they divorce? Seems pretty snakey.

Yep. this kind of stuff reminds me of the Nicholson movie, " As Good As It Gets". the difference between a man and a woman are reason and accountability.
Do you remember that the character who said that was mentally ill to the point of complete social ostracism? Remember how he had to start UNsaying them in order to have any kind of meaningful life at all?
LOL. Way to silently inject your own illustrious occupation there to lather on some credibility.
Why not add poolboys, bankers and gardeners to that list?

…anyone seen “Exterminators”? A movie with Heather Graham about 3 women with anger issues who decide to kill asshole husbands, and get away with it. Very odd to say the least…
