Hello everyone, these labs are old, but after having spoken with defy I decided to dig through them. These are from January 2019. Im not sure how to interpret these, but I would love to hear from you guys. The only thing I can tell is that my TSH looks almost tanked. Are labs presentable when this old or will I need new ones to show new evidence that my TSH is tanked?
I would definitely get a second test. Make sure to get FT4 and FT3 on the new test. If your levels are very high, you may want to consult with a doc about Graves Disease.
Looking at your numbers, they don’t seem too bad to me. So I wouldn’t worry too much. Do you have any hyper thyroid symptoms? Sweating, rapid heart beat, irritability?
Low TSH is not a bad thing. You appear to have pretty excellent thyroid numbers.
I do get irritable, have a hard time concentrating, brain fog, cold and sweaty feet, occassional rapid hear beat like a palpitation. I originally was looking at TRT and never worried much about thyroid until now.
These thyroid tests are obsolete, you should be testing fT4, fT3 and rT3. We still have no idea about the active hormones. T4 is towards the higher end and for all we know you could be in hyperthyroid tertiary. We would need to see fT3.
Defy won’t make the same mistake.
Thanks Systemlord
I always assumed hyperthyroid would effect the body making someone super skinny and hypo would make someone prone to holding fat tissue. Can you clarify this?
This may indicate rT3 is elevated because you shouldn’t have cold feet if you had plenty of the active hormone sufficiently elevated unless rT3 is pooling.
Yeah Ive had cold, sweaty feet for years now ever since I started having depression and anxiety. Sometimes it flares up and they totally pour sweat. Hands too.
I’ll bet it happens more often in the colder months, this is because our metabolism is lower in colder weather.
Hm, I’ve noticed both. It could be hot and feet will be cold as well as in cold weather of course. It always confused me with the cold AND sweaty. It seems like the two don’t go together.
Do you sweat in bed? Like wake up with wet sheets? When I’m hyper my sheets are drenched at night. And when I take layers of blankets off I feel like I’m getting hypothermia. Basically you can not regulate your body temperature at all.
No, I definitely do not sweat much if any during the night, but I do sometimes get cold and shiver to the point where blankets wont help and I have to actually touch something hot like a warm shower to feel like Ive regained homeostasis. This is only occassional about once or twice a month.
Worth getting a full thyroid panel at this point. Symptoms don’t sound too serious though. And there aren’t many options for slight hyperthyroidism, so just keep that in mind.
