Most of you know me here so I dont need to state my stats and history.
Basically, I came off a T3 cycle that lasted roughly 4-5 weeks going up to a dose of 75mcg.
I tapered off slowly around 3 weeks ago.
However I feel my thyroid has not yet recovered.
The reason for this is the following symptoms:
Severe lethargy
Dry skin
Depression
Irritability
Low libido
Lack of concentration except in the evening where mood seems to improve
Extreme appetite
Craving for junk and sugary foods
Now before anyone asks, I was running Test with it but I am still on the Test so I highly doubt it is Low T.
A lot of the symptoms point to adrenal fatigue (high cortisol) also, which is possible as I have recently been stressed about exams etc.
I should be going for a blood test next week sometime.
Any ideas?
Yes I’ve upped my fat intake.
However I was reading on a website somewhere that unsaturated fat can inhibit thyroid hormone production, I dont know if that has any truth behind it but I havent stopped taking my fish oil because of it.
Usually when I get the symptoms you describe its because my fat or sodium intake is too low. I just eat some bacon and it takes care of either one, lol. Wish I could be of more help. Ive never really messed with T3 personally.
Dietary fat, taurine (Red Bull or supplement) and try to dress a little bit warmer to maintain temperature.
T3 at that dose is ridiculous, people don’t understand the complexity of the thyroid feedback cycle as compared to the relative simplicity of Hypothalmic feedback loops. 25mcg a day while in caloric deficit is more than enough.
You’re thyroid will recover quickly.
Whats your carb intake at? Add some carbs to maintain temperature.

Curious about this PTD. Why you say only 25 mcg/day, which is not but a replacement dose? It may take you to the high end of the thyroid test range, but certainly no more than that as doctors that presscribe it at that dose arent usually fond of pushing TSH into the ground and pushing Free T3 labs over the range.
I’ve never seen T3 recommended at anything less than 50, with the exception of Bill Roberts’s 12.5 mcg recommendation to “supplement” your natural production (which I am skeptical of).
I can see only 25 mcg being useful in the case of extreme dieting where your thyroid hormones are potentially negatively impacted by the ridiculous caloric deficit and transition to survival mode, but not really in any other cirmcumstance.
SB man: you are looking beastly in your avatar. Hope things are going well for you brother.
Not really sure what you are expecting out of this thread really, unless we want to start a money pool to guess what your problem may be, considering that you are getting bloodwork done imminently. It is not really beneficial to speculate at this point since you will have a clear answer soon, and will be able to react accordingly.
But from what I have read and understand, the thyroid is very resilient at bouncing back after even long term administration of exogenous thyroid hormones, unless there is already an existing underlying issue (and sometimes even then).
I also don’t put a lot of stock into the “adrenal fatigue” speculation.

Good luck,

Cheers for the advice PTD, my carb intake varies but like I mentioned I am so prone to consuming sugar and junk so its probably around 250-300g.
Its a relief that it will recover quickly, cant take the lethargy anymore.

Thanks VT, always good to hear from you brother.
I dont really know what I am expecting either, maybe a temporary solution to the energy problems?
I am feeling better since I have posted this to be honest, lets call this a calm before the storm as I am soon coming off gear after 6 months.
I may post a log of my recovery coming off gear, we will see how it goes.
