This guy must be right, he can dead lift 140 lbs!!

I can deadlift an Inch dumbell with 140lbs. Do you even know what an Inch dumbell is?

I know what it is, and I don’t care. 140 pounds is still 140 pounds, barbell or Inch dumbbell. You’re stroooooong.

Can you do it on a Swiss Ball?

Let me guess, when you tell people you lift they are surprised.

And dont tell me IFBB bodybuilders use steroids. Why would they do that? Steroids are bad for you. Ronnie only does BSN supplements you fool. He is using the mass stack with the pro testosterone formula as we speak and is getting JACKED and SWOLE. It all about the cellmass baby.

You could at least google it instead of being such an ignorant jackass about it.
I would also bet that you probably couldn’t even deadlift what I clean and press with it. From your pic, you are a poster boy for why the HIT program is SHIT.

I still work out, I am just into strength sports. If I had to do it all over again and I was a teenager again, I would probably do strongman stuff.

When I was into bodybuilding, progress was measured with measuring tape. Now my progress is measured through lifting heavier objects, closing grippers and the like.

I don’t follow. The subtext of your original post was that because bodybuilders compare themselves to each other [in and through their appearance, i.e., the tapemeasure], they were gay–in every sense of the word, it seemed. Now you’re posting about how you focus on lifting heavier objects and gripper strength.

What the hell’s the difference? Today, you’re judging yourself in relation to others and their perception of you. Your self-worth, judging from every single post you’ve made, is grounded in how others evaluate you. According to your own standards, does that mean that you’re into the oils too?

My point here is twofold. One, that you’re throwing around queer panic like it’s candy. Two, that from what I can see very little has changed for you from your description of your teenage years to today.
I said that they put gay sex phone ads in the back of bodybuilding magazines and that advertisers know their target audience… This is really common knowledge…

Back to the point…

Who the fuck works out and doesn’t want to see progress? For a bodybuilder this consists of things that are measured visually: getting bigger, more symetrical, more cut, etc.

For me it involves solely lifting heavier weights, unless I am trying to make a weight class in which I need to use a weight scale.

I prefer lifting heavier weights to staring at myself in a mirror. What the fuck is so hard to comprehend about that? It’s just a matter of preference.

This right here probably describes everything about you. I have no doubt you are the guy who walks in and turns up his nose at anyone bigger than him. You probably eye other guys down or watch every exercise they perform so you can tell yourself that you are “relatively stronger” than them. This helps you sleep at night. It keeps your mind off of the fact that after all of these years, after all of the energy you put into it, you had to throw water on those burning early dreams of yours. That is why you blame magazines. It is why you blame guys bigger than you who compete. It hurt you and you won’t rest until you can throw some of that hurt right back.

How is that going for you?

If this thread is a sign, I would say, “not so well.”
You should think again, or better yet get a clue. I only wish that I had grown up with the internet because then I would have been exposed to strength sports earlier and not wasted my time bodybuilding.

I don’t “turn my nose” at bigger guys than me. Maybe when I get tired of competing at 181, I will put on some more mass myself. I probably have a frame that could hold much more.

Well I think the human body is amazing and just appreciate its ability to adapt and grow etc… it is just a miracle of nature. Not just humans but animals too. And not just super fit humans and animals, but regular ones as well are amazing, still I appreciate someone/something that has developed towards the limits of its phenotype …

I like a regular horse, they are nice, but a racehorse or draft horse is magnificent.

I like cows, they are nice beasts, but a mighty bull, that’s something else.

And I like people too, but an athletic person, that is great, something to be admired in a way, if it is done for the glory of the sport and not for some misguided vanity or to overcompensate for some inadequacy like the original poster is displaying - what smells like emotional weakness, trying to overcompensate in the old days exercising for size, FAILING, then giving up and saying the whole thing is a crock.

If I take a photo of the sunset it is because it is awe inspiring and beautiful, I don’t do it so I can shove the photo in other people’s faces and say “see what a great photographer I am!”

To those who have never known the glory of their own strength, I feel pity.

BBing is verry cool if you can live off it but powerlifting wins

LOL… incredible :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure there are some people who lift to impress others. I bet they don’t stick to it very long. Most people who lift long term, be it for strength or size, or a mixture of both, do it for themselves. For the health benefits, for the confidence, for how it releases endorphins and makes them feel good.

As for guys who look in the mirror…
Thsi seems to be a common theme in your arguement. I think you don’t understand WHY they look in the mirror. When I stnd in front of a mirror, what goes through my mind isn’t “gosh, you sure are a handome devil…and so large!!!”

What goes through my mind is. "Vastus medialis needs more work, posterior deltiods need more work etc. Everybody does it for different reasons, I’m sorry you do it to impress the big guys around you.

Are all Europeans this retarded, or is it just a few?

However… bodybuilders do form the main part of commercial gyms, thus they help keep them open…

I’m not going to read the rest of the thread but when was the last time you’ve been to a commercial gym?

Bodybuilders/strength trainers make up the MINORITY of gyms NOT the majority. Most are flodded with middle aged yuppies, stay at home moms and the older brigade.

Guys look at J_C’s past posts. You can easily tell he is basically a handicapped troll. This post for example basically just says some random opinion, no real point, and then drops the cue to flame:

“Thoughts?”

He did the same thing on JB’s get shredded diet thread saying:

“Another one (reffering to JB) who hasn’t been able to figure out how to lose weight without eating fat.
Maybe I should be the one writing a book.”

and the straw men proceeded to have a royal rubmble. It’s all in the style of a 14 y/o. The only hope is that mod’s sink these ridiculous threads or we don’t post on them. But it’s so hard not to give in to the troll.

J_C seems to really have examined those 900 number ads in detail. Was it a terrycloth towel or just a regular one J_C?

If it was a “matter of preference,” then you would have gone your merry way and wouldn’t have made this thread to start shit with bodybuilders, you tool.

Actually, I found those 900 numbers amusing. It was proof in the pudding that many bodybuilders take it in the ass…
