To appreciate what he did, he went from this…

I didnt like the actor they picked, to small for Thor, he looked like Kurt Cobain for half the movie. Either he shoulda packed on some more mass, or they should have picked someone else.
Movie was pretty entertaining though, apparently there was some scene at the end of the credits I missed… damn.[/quote]
Wow.

What are you talking about man. Looking at the picture of Hemsworth its evident he is decently sized for the roll of Thor. You cry to much.

Not crying, just saying I thought the actor shoulda had more size.
Dont get me wrong, he put on serious muscle for the movie, but I think they shoulda just picked someone else maybe. When I was a kid reading Thor comics, I remember he was massive. Not saying he shoulda been bodybuilder big, but bigger for sure.
And come on, you cant say he didnt resemble Cobain a little when he was walking around in jeans and a flannel style shirt. Same hair and facial hair style too.

Shut the fuck up…
Casting and the story were excellent, the nods to other Marvel franchises were also perfectly placed and I am now eagerly awaiting the day The Avengers is released more so than ever.
He resembled Cobain because he had blonde hair and a beard? What did you expect Thor to be, an Asian with ginger hair?
Here is Cobain
Here is Hemsworth. The difference is striking.

Hell he looked even BIGGER when there was a front shot of him next to natalie portman(she is small) but still he looked very Thor like.

Calm down, Im not saying you have to agree with me, just one mans opinion. For what its worth I thought Hemsworth did a great job, his size was just an observation.
The Avengers looks pretty kick ass, Im pumped about that.
I’m sorry RusaldoStrong but allow me to explain:
We frequently have discussions here about superhero movies and we all sort of long ago decided (well, many of us did) that the lead actor didn’t have to be built like the image from the comic book in order to look the part.So if you’re new, then you sort of sound like the new guy that shows everyone the picture of the funny dancing baby on the internet or something.
No big deal.

Ah, I see. Fair enough.
For what it’s worth, it is my understanding that the “3d-ing” was done “post-production,” meaning that it was not filmed with whatever fancy equipment they have for making 3D movies (like Avatar), but instead they did some magic editing or whatever and then a subpar 3D movie comes out just to make some extra bank.
In case it wasn’t clear, I don’t really understand the technology.
^^ I think it’s like you said.
The movie looked a tad better in 3D I guess. The best part is before the movie when it counts down 5,4,3,2,1 or what not (at least in my theater) and those numbers looked like they were 10 feet off the screen.
I would just like to say that the Asgard Gatekeeper was the most bad ass mother fucker in the movie. His character (although simple) was my favorite. I did enjoy myself throughout the whole movie. Worth the money
It was a good movie. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.
C’mon, nobody mentions Natalie Portman?! Smokin!
but awesome movie overall. completely agree with UNCheavylifter… that guy was dope!
