How do crossfit athletes work around injuries?

For people looking primarily to CrossFit/circuit type training to gain long term athleticism including heart and joint health, how would you go about adding size into that equation? I’ve been doing a lot of weight vest circuits with some strongman implements in there - is that the right direction or is there too much conflict? Thanks!

I benched yesterday and did curls then also. I worked up to a heavy set of 5 with a tempo on the way down.

I think the goal is to focus on what you CAN do instead of what you CANNOT do. Looking for pain free range of motion is a great place to start, adjust the workout as needed to make that happen. Messed up knee? ok focus on upper body or low impact lower body exercises, perhaps use a ski erg for conditioning instead of running

I think adding a solid strength program to your training could work. For example: backsquat, DL, press heavy at least once a week. Our NCX program does a good job of blending what you are referring to. Id also recommend looking into your nutrition and see if you are eating to provide the goals you are looking for.
