Everyone take some DMT and report back what happens.
I once had a dream that Clint Eastwood shot me from behind a corner of a building. Granted, I had a gun and was looking for him, but I left myself open, and Diry Harry blew me away. Crazy!
I can read, but like others, it’s in dream gibberish.
When I have bad dreams, I can’t wake up. I know I am asleep, and I know if I scream, or yell, I’ll wake up, but I hardly ever seem to yell loud enough.
When I do finally wake up - I might as well just get out of bed because I’m done sleeping for the night.

About the school dreams…I have recurring dreams that I’m back in college, but I konw I’ve already graduated, then in the middle of class, I’ll realize this and just say “fuck this” and walk out saying “what the hell am I doing here? I graduated years ago!” And college wasn’t a bad experience for me. But I have the same dream a lot.[/quote]
That is pretty similar to mine. I’ll be sitting in class and it seemingly hits me out of the blue that I’m 6 years older than everyone else and have done this before. I on the other hand, hated school because I was a lard ass and none of the hot chicks would talk to me. Now I’m not a lard ass and they still won’t talk to me.
I remember this one dream I had where I was in a very rich, fancy restaurant. I’m sitting at a table with 6 guys, when I suddenly pull an Ak-47 out from under the table and gun them down. Nobody else in the restaurant seems to notice or care. Then a guy with a rocket launcher appears on each of these two catwalks above me, causing everyone to freak out and flee as fast as possible. But when I turned to start shooting at them I woke up.

i get that slow punchy thing too in my dreams.
but ooooh can i swing an aluminium baseball bat… dear god
pinnggggg across the jaw
wait ignore that last post, this is T-Nation you’re all pussies.
all i do is squats in my dreams
When I was a kid, every night I would dream that I was playing with a transformer (the toy). And just when I was about to change it into the robot… I would wake up.
That was from 6 years old to 7 years old I think.
very frustrating!
I can stick my hand into someone else’s chest and turn that guy into me.

Another fun thing I’ve experienced several times is running/swimming really fast without getting tired or out of breath. I’ve always enjoyed these ones because I realize how wrong it is in the dream, but have fun nevertheless.
I’ve died a couple times in dreams. I found these fun because I knew I didn’t have to breath anymore. Of course, I wake up pretty quickly afterward.

I would be a little concerned about this. To stop breathing in your dream like that? It doesn’t sound right to me, particularly if you’re waking because of it. It sounds like heavy-duty sleep apnea. You should check in with your doctor about it.
The swimming/running really fast…that’s exactly how I feel in running dreams, though I don’t ever have a sense that it’s wrong (but I run distances). It’s such an incredible feeling of power and freedom. I’ve never had a swimming dream.

What really bugs me is that I can’t punch normally in dreams. I try to but it’s as if my arms are bogged down and super-slow-moving, like I’m punching underwater. Very frustrating. ![]()
Because, you know, sometimes you have to deck someone in a dream . . . .
That happens to me too it’s horrible. It actually happens to alot of people (i.e. being slower when trying to flee, not baing able to scream)
I wonder why people have these universal types of dreams?
Same here. I can’t fight for shit in most dreams. I think I have successfully fought and won in maybe three dreams. The rest it seems that I just couldn’t swing and if I did the punches were slow and soft.
This is a wierd thing. I think it has something to do with the chemicals that are released that keep you still and relaxed when sleeping.
Strange thing though- I used to have sleep terrors, like a thousand times worse than nightmares.
When I was active in the sleep state and punching, kicking or anything else, I would also be doing it full speed and strength in the bed. I ended up knocking the shit out of a couple of ex-girlfriends. From what they said, I would just go ballistic screaming and punching, then return to a motionless restfull state. I never knew a thing until they would tell me.

Some psyciatry types theorize that the powerlessness you feel in dreams stems from an inability to control certain situations in your life. Who knows…
I used to have night terrors when I was younger. I would be running around my house screaming with my eyes wide open, but I was completely asleep. This would go on for about an hour, with my parents chasing me around the house trying to wake me up.
I also used to dream about being in school or in some public place in my underwear or naked.
Now, every time I dream I end up running from the police. I will wake up and be terrified that a SWAT team is kicking my bedroom door down.
To help remember your dreams I read somewhere that you should stay in the same position you were sleeping in when you woke up. Push…this might be tough for you as 3 or 4 other people might be waking up at the same time…
Also read you should keep a dream journal.
3 nights ago I dreamt I was banging my wife on the front lawn. We weren’t married in the dream though and I kept telling her to hurry up and get busy as the meesus could drive by at any moment.
Lucid dreaming is one of the coolest things ever. I get lucid dreams on a regular basis. They usually consist of fights, cool areas and flying or jumping. I have a very weird relationship with dreams. My dreams are often incredibly vivid and realistic. Usually when I eat something in my dreams I can taste it and smell it well.
I can also read in my dreams, and understand what is being read. I find it interesting that most people can’t understand what they read. There have been times when I have read letters or books and clearly remembered passages upon waking.
A particularly cool dream was were two guys were chasing me and trying to kill me. So at one point, they shoot at me. I held my hand out like Neo to try and stop the bullets (it sometimes works, but you have to BELIEVE that the bullets will stop in mid air), but one of them went through my arm. I FELT THE BULLET TRAVELLING THROUGH MY ARM.
Now this may not be very special to others, but it was FREAKY for me. It just felt really odd to have this bullet move through your outstretched arm, and out of your body. However, it didn’t harm me. It was just a sort of ticklish, odd feeling.
Then the men, seeing that they hadn’t killed me, got into a red car, started the engine, and accelerated. They were going to run me over. As they sped up and nearly were on me, I jumped up and my legs smashed through the front window, killing them both (This is straight out of Sin City. I guess my subconscious loved that part so much, that it wanted to implement it, lol). It was all very cool.
I have also flown numerous times. Sometimes I am almost floating in the air, kind of drifting with my bodyweight above a city; other times I am almost gliding right above the ground.
Lucid dreaming is a technique that can be learnt. I took the time in the past to practice it, and now it comes easier. If anyone is interested I can post some useful links to some techniques on lucid dreaming. It’s actually more of a psychological thing than anything else. Prior to going to sleep you have to KNOW that you are going to lucid dream, and BELIEVE it etc.
I have heard that some particularly talented lucid dreamers can do all sorts of really, really cool stuff in their dreams. You can apparently make entire worlds and galaxies in your head (BTW, if you ever lucid dream, try looking up at the sky. While never having managed to do it myself, I have heard that it will look very beautiful.
A reflection of your imagination or something. I just remember seeing a pink and indigo backdrop with a chain of stars in one of my dreams where I was flying).

YES! me to, and it sucks because eventually I wake up and I realize it was just a dream.
Plus the slow-mo punching happens all the time to me. And the weirdest dreams I have are when I imagine I’m covered in bugs or snakes are in my bed. I’ll wake up and literally jump outta my bed. One night, about 2 weeks ago I actually jumped outta my bed and checked under all my covers, it seemed so realistic.
Or, in some cases, I’ll be dreaming, think I’ve woken up but I’m still in a dream. Really weird stuff.
Another lucid dream from a few months ago was as follows. I have made it more story-like for extra excitement.
(Bear in mind, usually when you lucid dream, it happens at a particular point in your dream. It’s like you “remember” that you are dreaming.)
I am in a luxurious appartment with my mom I think. It’s some suite in a quality hotel with lots of wood and some interesting lighting etc. I turn on my plasma tv and see a news broadcast of Zombies attacking and killing everyone. It’s an all out Zombie invasion. Then suddenly the electricity is cut, and the lights go out. It’s dark and gloomy.
The front door starts banging and I can hear the growling and moaning of the zombies outside. They break through the door and pour in.
My mom runs somewhere - I think she escapes, or get’s swallowed by a zombie or something. Zombies claw at my shirt and I run into the bathroom, and lock the door. I am alone. The zombies are bashing the door and are going to break in real soon.
Then, all of a sudden (and damn am I lucky), I get lucid. As I said before it’s like a realization. I turn my head left and I see a closet in the bathroom. I open it hastily and see a single coat hanger. So I take it, and now it gets really cool. With the coat hanger in my hand, I transform it into a mini P90 machine gun (with unlimited amunition of course).
I smash the door down with my foot and blast the zombies with my newly created firearm. It’s exhilirating. The zombies get blown to bits.
Soon I am alone again. Dead zombie corpses litter the floor, but I hear moan and groans in the distance, in the other corridors of this huge hotel. Because it’s dark, I attach a blue flashlight onto my gun. Created again by myself of course. Then I step out of the room ready to hunt more zombies…

This is a great dream, but only a dream since bullets don’t kill zombies.
