Things That Piss You Off

Maybe he feels that they’re Ready and he’s taking them out for a Test.

I mean, I feel like it was just a funny shirt. Nothing to be taken seriously

I can’t believe no one is making fun of the kneeling jumps.

It’s not just the shirt: he does this whole “gas station ready/wafflehouse ready” shtick that just takes away from some solid information he can share. If you haven’t read “Tactical Strongman” or “The Tijuana Barbell Club", consider yourself fortunate.

Metroflex Powerbuilding Basics was a FANTASTIC read from him. Why he couldn’t stick with that style is beyond me.

It’s the new kumite

Do you know where to find this one? I’ve only ever seen on listing on Amazon

I think Josh Bryant’s redeeming quality with some of his books is that they are on kindle unlimited

I got an e-book of it like 15 years go. No idea where it can currently be found.

Getting all your meals in when you are full of a head cold. Currently forcing down my second serving of chilli and rice for my 3rd lunch at work (fist lunch was chili and rice, second lunch has a hamburger). Can’t work out if the sweating is the cold or the chilli and every swallow makes me feel a little more like vomiting. Fk you virus.

People who won’t strive to move up or move out of a minimum wage job yet want a pay increase.

I can also add minimum wage to things that piss me off. There should be NO minimum wage. A company should have the right to pay whatever they feel is needed. The worker can move on, if it’s a problem for them.

People that bitch about minimum wage workers piss me off.

It’s good for them to complain and do nothing. They’ll be at the bottom and the people who do strive benefit from that.

Less competition and more opportunity for those willing to take action.

Wouldn’t have that if there was no minimum wage.

PS are you talking about me Brent?

I don’t bitch about minimum wage workers. I only bitch about minimum wage being a thing.

But they do, do something, they vote for “higher minimum wage”.

How does that help anyone?

“With the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, an hour of work can buy approximately 11.7 pounds of celery, based on the U.S. retail price average in 2025. This amount is roughly equivalent to 10 to 12 bunches of celery.”

That’s weak. The average human needs at least twice that to build muscle.

All that’s needed is approximately 1-2 stalks of celery a day for the same gains people are pinning for.

@Brant_Drake recently I’ve been eating a lot of grapes specifically inbetween sets for recovery. I’m seeing some nice results.

Do you eat grapes?

I used to eat grapes back in my strongman days while training events outside in the summer, which was over 20years ago.

Now I’m utilizing grapes for muscle growth purposes.

I’m sure thats good for glycogen replenishment.

We used to drink beer while lifting and it seemed great. Start ripping a few lines though and shit gets crazy.

Beer muscle will get you a little loose and maybe make a bad decision, but coke muscles with get you hurt! Then you pop a couple vicodin and become bulletproof.

Then the cops show up for what ever, like the neighbors don’t like Slayer or something, but you don’t care. Theres only three or four of them, but theres definitely one of you, and its freakin go time!

Grapes are fine. Probably better of with them than most other things.

I have no sweet tooth at all, but I force myself to eat some fruit at breakfast, because it’s healthy and shit, so occationally grapes make their way into the rotation because my kids like them.

I also don’t like eating in between sets. I don’t really see the point since it won’tget digested fast enough, and it feels counterproductive to send blood to your digestive system instead of your muscles, but that’s just my bro-science.

Square grouper technically counts as seafood and therefore is protein, right?

Only fresh caught. Anything less is just uncivilized.

Nah. Thats real, not bro science.

I used to do a little beer drinking while performing old time strongman feats mostly steel bending.

That was also 20 years ago.

1-2beers can be productive for that but more than that it gets counter productive. I knew a professional old time strongman whom really developed a problem with that. I saw him (drank with him) at the AOBS (look that up) one year and he was failing really badly trying to bend impossible sized horseshoes and trying to bend a penny, it got ridiculous because he was way too smashed and almost passing out after the attempts.

Beer does not help muscle building though. Best I does is the alcohol drys you out so there is something science there, but not worth it IMO.
