Things That Piss You Off

Its a total dick move, but there was a guy I worked with that I hated. He was a solid 350 lbs. of fat, lazy asshole.

So he noticed that I was kind of built and not shy about tossing around some heavy pieces of metal and whatnot, and starts asking me about diet and exercise stuff. I just told him to keep doing what ever it is he’s doing because he’s fucking JACKED. Then I upped the ante by telling him that for the type of stuff we’re doing, he should just eat like a motherf*&ker, because by the time you start feeling hungry, you’re already in a deficit, so he did.

Another guy that was a bystander to these conversations pulled me aside and asked my why the hell I would say things like that. So I told him how this guy throws us under the bus every day when he goes into the office to do end of day reports with the division supervisor.

He then agreed and began to participate.

I refuse to eat in front of my co-workers and tell them I’m powered by sunlight, like a plant. I think some of them are starting to believe me.

I haven’t hear that place in over 40 years. In 1975 my dad was stationed in Fort Sam Houston so we drove down from Ottawa. I remember kids raving about Wataburger and I swear they were saying waterburger. I thought it seemed legit because all the commercials showing the burger made it look really greasy, hence watery. I was in grade five and Canadian (still am Canadian) so something was lost in translation.

I don’t know. Sometimes it’s nice to mix things up

Folks who use the bench press to do leg raises… pisses me off. I’ll sometimes work in when I’m not doing bench just to fuck them off.

Good Ole Antelope Valley

Had an older lady (early to mid 70s) sit down to have a discussion with me at work, it started with how, “your (my) generation” has cheapened things, has made swearing mainstream (and that it is offensive) and that we’ve cheapened the meaning of sex and that, “your (my) generation” is the reason we are having all of these issues with sexual harassment, because we just have sex with whoever, whenever, and we don’t care about the sanctity of marriage and all that. Needless to say, I was pissed, but being at work I couldn’t tell her what I actually wanted to tell her, which was, “You do realize that all of these people involved in these high profile sexual harassment/rape suits are your kids’ age right? And that it was your generation that raised them and taught them their values.” Instead what I said was, “Yes ma’am, it can seem like that at times, that things are cheapened over time.”

I was hot under the caller, my (grand use) generation surely has its flaws, but the whole “blame a generation” thing kinda pisses me off, especially when they’re rude and blame the wrong generation, ha.

It’s all over. My second-eldest daughter seriously dated a Jewish man whose parents made aliyah from Ethiopia (he is black-ish; think the model Iman – dark black skin, but Caucasoid facial features - yes, Israelis are mutts). Not most people, but a solid plurality of most ethnic groups, were crappy to them, in several countries, but especially the USA.

Not why they broke up (she went on to medical school in the USA; he stayed in the IDF), but I suspect it was an aggravating factor. Just one more thing to deal with in a relationship.

This pisses me off. I’m at the tag end of the boomers and get tired of hearing millenials trashed. It doesn’t take an awful lot of observation and imagination to know that there are assholes in every generation just like there are really creative and amazing people in every generation. Most of us are a varying blend of both characteristics. Basic human nature doesn’t change.

This grinds my gears more than it probably should.

“Your generation didn’t want to let black people vote” is a pretty good response.

I mean, it’s not a good response at all, because it’s an awful thing that happened, but in terms of comparing which generation was worse, I think “people having lots of sex” vs “attempting to make inalienable rights alienable” isn’t all that bad.

That made me chortle a bit, imagining the look of consternation (constipation?) on that individual’s face. I would give you full credit as well, this comment brought to you by a moderately evil genius.

“You’re more competent than me. I hate you.”

I love this. Of course, it always comes down to the individual parent(s) raising the child, but when people go down that slippery slope of making broad generalizations, that’s my favorite point to bring up. I’m 20 and I’ve heard my fair share of adults say “your generation is glued to their phones,” or “your generation is too crazy.” Shit like that. Well, Steve Jobs (born in 1955) pioneered smartphones, and your generation raised us.

Nothing influences a generation more than the generation before it. When I hear someone 65+ y/o talking shit about my generation, well… your kids raised their kids wrong. So shut up. Every generation is different, every generation lives in a society that is different from the society that came before it. Remember when being gay was bad? It isn’t anymore. Times change, people change, for better or worse. I just don’t understand why these people who are otherwise wise and experienced think that griping about this stuff will accomplish anything. You aren’t making any friends by telling someone that their entire generation is full of shit heads, believe it or not!

Oh snap!

Please tell me you’ve actually said that to someone?

The people I know are familiar enough with my caustic wit and propensity to utilize the nuclear option almost immediately in conversation that I’ve never been afforded the opportunity, haha. But I have brought this up to people romanticizing prior generations for the clean wholesome living.

There is a LOT of very ugly “history” that is really just a few decades ago. We went a LONG time being really awful to each other as humans as simply par for the course, and it’s only a very recent consideration to treat people differently than you with some degree of dignity. Anyone that tries to step too far back in the past has to contend with that.

Hell, my dad still remembers bussing in school, and black and white water fountains.
