Concealed carry permits are absolutely ridiculous to get here anyways.
If someone breaks into your house and is unarmed - you are expected not to shoot them. Protection of your property is not just cause in this state.
But if by chance you have reason to fear for your life, you better make sure you kill them with one shot. Overkill (aka double tap) is unjust, and if they don’t die - they can sue you for damages and win. I wish i was kidding.

I think theres a different vibe here. Even our stupid riot for the George Floyd thing were very mild by comparison, and the one clown jumping around on the cop car was a white kid from Shaler.
I’m out in South Park. Pretty tame. One of the best violent crime & property crime rates anywhere. Somebody stole a graduation sign, and drew a mustache on another. 
There are a few odd ones here & there though.
My brother works at @anna_5588 's former campus, and once in 12 years a homeless guy convinced himself that my brother owed him a dollar and got agressive, but found himself at the business end of a very sharp & good sized knife. He forgot all about that dollar.
Plus, the boys in blue down town will straight up murder people if you give them any, Any flack.
I bought a window unit air conditioner two years ago. Earlier this year, hauled it upstairs, put it in, turned it on, and found it shit the bed on me. Fan blows strong, but the condenser or whatever makes it blow out cold air isn’t working properly.
I bought a high BTU model so it would cool my entire downstairs. It’s not a large space, but the kitchen and living room is open concept so I wanted something with some extra headroom. It worked great, for two years.
I fought with GE customer service all summer to get them to replace it or reimburse me for servicing it. Turns out, NO ONE services window unit air conditioners. And the best GE will do is a $350 rebate for a new AC. I paid $500+tax for this thing.
It’s now nearing the end of September in Maine. I do not need an AC any more. I still haven’t resolved this issue. I am not pleased with any of this.
You have bad luck with ACs … I’ve had my window units (Southcost MA - keep mine in the window for the odd Indian Summer day here or there through Sept) for going on 8 years now and they all still work great … I think I got 'em all at Ocean State Job Lot (Not sure if you Mainers get them up there)
We do, I got this one at Home Depot.
All my other ones work great, but they’re on the smaller side. Bedroom units. I have one of those in place of the big boy and it can get the job done most days, but hot days it just makes the space bearable and it takes hours to cool it down.
In fact, now that I think of it, this is the only AC I’ve ever had shit the bed on me and it’s by far the nicest/most expensive one.
I’ve called like 20 appliance service people and basically all of them said to steer clear of GE products.

I have experienced the indifference a few times in my life and it is usually never good. Once you become emotionless about a person / situation all feeling is gone. That is the true opposite of love - I agree. There is nothing left but the void.
There are a few things on this planet I will gladly go full scorched earth for regardless of repercussions and children are one of them. At the end of the day, if I have done what is right by the child, I can live with any of the consequences with no remorse.

She is the sweetest little thing. Even through all of this it has not beaten her down, which is amazing in itself. She is VERY intelligent. She wants to be a physician. She is going to shadow with my mother rounding on patients next week. She bought her a real stethoscope and has been showing her how to take blood pressures and examine people.
People think I am bad - heaven, god, whatever help anyone that does anything to hurt children my mother loves.
She may be all of 5’1, but she is full-blooded Cherokee and one of the smartest people I have ever met. Dual PhD, MD, with more publications than I can count, but also one of the kindest and warm-hearted people to exist.
