Assholes who smoke anywhere others will be subject to the second hand smoke.

Breathed that crap in around my dad for years. I do now want it around my kids or me ever again.

I was walking and ran into a random guy from my old gym who I hadn’t seen in 5 years. This guy is probably early 60s. The first thing he says is that I’ve gotten fatter and repeats that several times throughout the conversation

I know I’ve gotten fatter, but wtf

So, are you pissed off that you’ve gotten fatter or that an older guy finds you unattractive?

I’m pissed off that 1) I’ve gotten fatter 2) that this guy felt the need to say multiple times that I’ve gotten fatter as if that’s the only thing I worth talking about. It’s frankly very rude and a bit creepy

Did you even want to even talk to that guy at all or did you just kinda do it because you were in defense mode?

He was pretty nice to me so I was polite and talked with him for ~5 min. The initial comment wasn’t really an issue bc it is a pretty noticeable change. I tried to change the subject a couple of times before giving up

Well how was the walk overall? Nice weather? Good area?

DO YOU FEEL ACCOMPLISHED?

In my experience with older people, they sometimes don’t care about your feelings when addressing issues. As you said, you don’t want to be fat and are not happy you’re fat. He probably doesn’t like the fact you are fat. Maybe it’s his way of trying to get you to lose weight.

I should clarify, 5 years ago I was more or less anorexic

I am fatter than I’d like to be but I am not objectively fat. I am ~23% body fat and have visible ab definition and some quad separation if I flex

That does help for clarity and context.

A few times I’ve talked with people who may have had a bad relationship with food. Id say things like “Damn, looking good!” Or “What ever you’re doing, keep doing it!” to say it without saying it.

So thats probably what I’d say if I saw you again after a few years and you were looking healthy.

*if anything at all. I know it can be a sensitive subject.

Asian old man? My wife is Vietnamese and her relatives love to comment on people’s weight to their face.

There’s a slim (see what I did there?) chance that because you’re in China (?), the creepy old dude is actually trying to compliment you.

Then maybe he meant it in a good way and you took it as a negative comment because, you are still dealing with some issues.

That’s significantly lower than the average American woman and lower than the average American man. How dare you fat shame Americans!

Seriously though, I’ve known some anorexic women and girls and it’s a terrible thing to go through and isn’t easy to overcome. I wish you well.
