It’s your best friend if you are just starting out on the property ladder.

Damn huge caterpillar ate 1/2 the leaves off my best producing poblano pepper plant in one night! :rage:
Cut it back and hopefully can trigger some new growth.

Florida in July and August is pest heaven.

Big ass caterpillars tore up my tomatoes a few nights ago.

Does it look like this?

No, pretty much solid green

I think it’s this guy: Tobacco or Tomato Hornworm

I pulled three smaller ones off and sprayed with Spinoza spray before this big motherf***er ate my best plant.

Think I need some BT spray

Get a blacklight and the little turds glow at night and are easy to find and pick off.

Gotcha - I always knew them to be called “tomato worms”.

We had a millipede infestation last year

There was also a saga with ants (I started a thread). Luckily a hungry armadillo or two took care of that one

More things to be pissed off about today:
The fat acceptance body positivity cult
uhmm I mean community.
I firmly irritated some folks when calling out a BS IG reel by a clearly morbidly obese person that claimed that the reason most folks are obese is not really due to excess calorie intake.

No one wants to take responsibility that it is their own choices that have consequences. Every pound of fat I ever gained above where I wanted to be was my own dang fault.

I’m so curious what the culprit allegedly was then.

It’s usually presented as vague “myriad of other reasons” and then there is some commentary that BMI doesn’t work.

But then I point out that BMI couple with waist to height ratio is pretty accurate and get called a fatphobe

BMI doesn’t work for what?

Their claim is it downs work for individuals that are visibly overweight.

Maybe i’m being dense, but what do they mean by “doesn’t work”? It’s just a measurement. Do you mean they just don’t like what it says about them?

Pretty much. They claim it’s not a great indicator of individual health (which is a half truth).

The term they use that I also love is “living in a larger body”. No, chances are you built that larger body. Nobody’s skeleton is 100 lbs heavier than somebody else’s
.

Edit:
One of the claims I responded to was that “people living in larger bodies feel extra stress mentally when going to the doctor”

I responded by saying that exercise has been shown to be a great improver of mental and physical stress - no comeback for that.

Man, this whole topic frustrates me.

I try to stay out of it but the obesity epidemic is the truly scary one.

I worry about being to heavy at 290 right now even though I am very muscular.

I’m conflicted on this, because i believe people should be allowed to live whatever lifestyle they want. The numbers are truely worrying though.

I wholeheartedly agree, so long as medicare doesn’t cover their insulin needles, triple bypass surgery, or other fat-related medical costs!

Same goes for people on permablast or chain smokers
do whatever you want - I won’t judge. Just don’t make me pay for it =)
